Rumors swirling right now that we may no longer have to worry about saying anything bad about simpson on the site without their SID coming to their rescue....Trying to confirm.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

doolittledog:

Mrs. Warthog was reading over my shoulder and saw that your son may be leaning towards Central at his young age. The worst part is, you don't appear to be doing anything to stop it.

I'm sorry to inform you that as a teacher she is a mandatory abuse reporter.  You have left her with few choices other than to contact DHS.

If you promise to point him towards the northwest every morning and have him repeat the phrase, "I want to be orange!", she will hold off on the call.

My wifes favorite color is orange...so she is already working on that part for you.

As far as DHS goes...I used to work part time for DHL.  One day on my route I went into a doctors office that was a normal stop and the receptionist told me she didn't think they had anything for me that day but told me to hang on a second and she would check.  She then yelled out..."did anyone here call for DHS"  Pretty much every parent in the room grabbed their children up close to them and had horrified looks on their faces.  That gave me a chuckle for the rest of the afternoon.

Well that could be anything from their SID moving on to another place or position, or it could mean Simpson is thinking of going NAIA or D2  :o

Please confirm, this could certainly get this board hopping during a down part of the year.

Or it could mean Simpson has eliminated the position. Crazy, I know, but these are crazy times.
4 IIAC football championships
8 NCAA football playoff appearances
13 straight wins over Cornell in the oldest football rivalry west of the Mississippi

Yeah, I hadn't thought of that, but that would probably make the most sense unfortunately.

My wife running a daycare meant I was bannished to the upstairs...with no computer.  The plus side was I was able to watch ESPN all day...in between naps.

No laptop and a wireless home network?

I keep telling my wife that is what we need next out here.  We shall see.

Do you ever work?  ESPN, naps, being banned to the upstairs.  You have the good life.  Well except for the apple orchard runs and the Wiggles CD's in  your car.

Yesterday I was listening to the local morning show, and they were laughing about the KidzBop CD's -- you know, where kids sing the Top 40-style hits (sometimes in a more kid-friendly version for a child audience.) Anyway, I chuckled the entire walk to work, thinking that Doolittle HAD to have some of those in his minivan. :)

You guessed right.  I grind my teeth every time my wife puts them in.  Though, I do like the Rockabye baby CD's they have out.  Instrumental lullaby CD's of Nirvana and Led Zep and others.  It's quite funny to listen to.  And makes me hopefull that as my kids age they will think back to their early dream time and get into rock...and not that pop stuff like the Jonas Bros and Hannah Montana.

Now, if my son can channel his enthusiasm for tackling daddy (good technique, wraps the legs) and gets into football, I will probably be ok if one or more of my kids likes pop music.  On another note, my son is currently refusing to wear anything other than red sweatshirts...so maybe he is leaning towards Central at this early age ;D

Dog...I think DF2k4 has brainwashed you into being a closet Dutch fan ;).  Red could mean Simpson, Central, Northwestern (IA), Nebraska, or even Coe if you want to stretch it that far.

My wife did go to Northwestern (IA) for a year, but she thinks they are all brainwashed crazies over there.  So I don't see that happening.  I think Nebraska has a bunch of brainwashed crazies...so I don't see that happening.  Any of the other schools would be ok with me if that is where one of our kids wanted to go.  I would be ok with any of the IIAC schools if that is what our kids wanted.  I would just push really really really really really really hard for them to not choose Loras  ;)

Hopefully, the next few years do not see any of our schools shutting their doors due to the finantial crisis.  Hopefully, each of our schools have enough resources and history to pull through this mess.

And what is so wrong with being a Dutch fan, Beaver?

Doolittle, it sounds like you are fostering this early interest in Central....good for you. It takes a strong parent to do that when it goes against your natural Spartain instincts. We're all very proud of you. Keep up the good work.

So, at exactly what age was he when you determined your son was a boy genius?

I'm pretty sure there's still a position there, but he won't be filling it.

Does he know he's out of a job? It isn't posted on the Simpson web site. http://www.simpson.edu/hr/jobs/index.html

C'mon, Hoover -- share your secrets!
