Let's see...UD: 61% of last year's admitted students had higher than an 18 on the ACT.
                 Simpson: 100%

I should have added this disclaimer...

Views expressed by doolittle do not necessarily have any basis in fact...and should be taken with a grain of salt!!!

Wow - an 18 ACT? Can people with scores like that even dress themselves in the morning?

Well, with so many students at UD from out of state...did those kids even TAKE the ACT???

They could be from areas that take the SAT

If they didn't take the ACT, would it bring down the average score?  ;)

Well, maybe not.  But, if 39% of last years admitted freshman didn't take the ACT then that 61% figure is a little skewed.  But yeah, who knows, I suppose Dubuque might be bringing in some knuckle draggers.

sc_stormchaser

The percentage is based on all students who have taken the ACT. The SAT has a separate percentage.

So of the students who took the ACT and were admitted to UD, 39% had an 18 or lower on the ACT.

Dog- I can take jokes with the best of them - some of the others directed at Simpson - "Losers", "Stuck up", something making fun of our field, but you don't screw with our academics ;)

I realize this is the football board, but can someone tell how BV's basketball team was left out of the NCAA tournament? Do they not have very many at-large births? They lost 3 games all year.

doolittledog

Actually I wasn't SC, the DMACC comment came from kids that I knew that went to Simpson.  They said that Simpson had a lot of Des Moines kids and they went home almost every weekend.  Much like you would see with DMACC kids.  Nothing to do with academics in my comments.

I was hoping everyone knew this was in fun.  I laugh at the "loser" comments and things like that about Dubuque.

It is being discussed on the basketball side of this board.  Long story short, BV didn't have any wins against regionally ranked teams this year.  BV still got a raw deal IMO.  I don't care that they didn't have any wins against regionally ranked teams...their schedule is their schedule.  They still were ranked #9 nationally and only had 3 losses.  Their record, plus what they did last year in the tourney with basically the same team should have spoken for itself.  But oh well, time to cheer on Cornell as the IIAC representative.
