We seem to hear about the Coe/Cornell rivalry as quite an epic conflict.

I understand the Kohawks and the Rams are fairly close to one another geographically, but in their time as members of the IIAC they tend to find themselves at opposite ends of the football standings.

When they were members of the MWC were they more evenly matched?  If so what happened?  ???

Steve Miller did a good job of getting Cornell to a level where they compete for a conference title but after he left coaching, Cornell Football has been sliding downhill.

Question for the day...

What is more likely...Central follows a sub-par 4-4 conference season with a conference championship in 2009???  Or...Following a conference championship season and a deep run in the playoffs, Wartburg slides to a 4-4 conference record in 2009???

Least likely that Wartburg slides to 4-4 in IIAC.  How could they ever slip with "THE W" and all it brings to
Wartburg?

This right there is what I love about college athletics.  You could be 2 or 102 and your allegiances will stay the same.  Luther fans won't like Wartburg and likewise.  All three of my children could go to Loras and I would not be able to cheer for the Duhawks.  Actually, I probably wouldn't let my three kids go to Loras!!!

I can't wait until the fall and see how things play out.

Hey, Doolittle......I was giving my southern friends a compliment on "The W".  The Warts will be stronger in the fall than Central in my opinion. Central is still a year away from another championship....but then it will happen if they can beat the Norse.

Anyone remember Ricky Legree from Cornell, because he is becoming a heck of a rugby player for the CR Headhunters.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Come on now dog.  Your telling me that if your son is a stud LB for the DuHawks that you will root for the Sparts in the annual battle.

Didn't he become an assistant coach at Coe???

I am now off to take a look at the Headhunters website.  I am a Rugby fan.  Between Iowa Falls, Bremer County, Waterloo, Cedar Rapids and others...I should be able to make a game sooner or later.  Des Moines has a fantastic facility.  Iowa Falls has a ton of fields...I always make sure to drive by them when I am over there.

Yes he did.

As far as going to see Rugby, I would check out the Dubuque tournament April 18!

It is going to be a rucking good time.

Dog, maybe you should suit up and play rugby.  You have proclaimed to be a short fat man on many occasions, that might help you in the scrum.  Plus it might help you get  your killer instinct back from all the runs to the market and gassing up the minivan ;D

Hmm, let's see...the minivan has gone back to my wife and I am now driving a truck...nope, killer instinct is still gone.  Rugby, like soccer, is a game of continuous motion.  Pretty much non-stop action.  If I run out to my mailbox I have to take a knee for a few moments.  Plus, rugby guys are hard core.  IF I were to make it through a game alive, chances are I wouldn't be able to make my way to a dozen or so bars afterwards to celebrate ;)
