How about some thought about the replacement of the head wrestling coach at Iowa State.  The Cyclones could make a lot worse choices than Coach Oostendorp from Coe.  Lets face it the jump from coaching D3 wrestling to D1 wrestling isn't the same as basketball or football.  Plus Coach O has five successful years of coaching experience.  He was a succesful D1 wrestler and he is an Iowa guy who probably would have a good shot at recruiting D1 wrestlers around the midwest.

I know my fellow Wartburg fans won't like this but what about Coach Miller from the Burg?

Try to avoid being tied with Simpson or Central at the end of regulation time.  ;)

My original post included Coach Miller, but his age might be an issue for a team looking for a long term solution.  Besides, I can't imagine it gets more big time than coaching the Knights. :D

I think most D1 people don't want to see someone that has been in the D3 coaching ranks for a number of years.  Not really fair, but that is the reality which would probably keep coach Miller out of the running.  The Coe coach with D1 experiance, and showing that he is an up and comer at the D3 level might look to people as a good choice.  Let's just keep McGovern at Dubuque.  D3 product, just missed the Olympics, now building a great program at UD.  I don't want to see him leave UD or the IIAC.

Wartburg?  Here's their IIAC schedule, based on skeds posted by the other IIAC schools.  I can't say for sure, but as far as their non-con games, I'd assume they are at St. Norbert on 9/5 and home vs. Augsburg the following Saturday.

St. Norbert and Augsburg have their schedules posted, and you are correct that Wartburg plays @ St. Norbert on 9/5 and play Augsburg at home on the 12th.

It's becoming one of the classic blunders, the most famous is never to get involved in a land war in Asia. And only slightly less well known is this: never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!

Central still shows TBA for their Sept. 12th game this year.

Do they have a game scheduled and just haven't updated their website???

Are the Dutch still searching for a game for that date???

What are the odds they can still find a game for that date???

Are they staring down the barrel of 9 game season???

Does TBA stand for some obscure school I have never heard of...Texas Bohemian Academy???

Right. We have all that on our site too, with game times, though for Wartburg's home games obviously they're a little up in the air since it's what the opponent thinks.

They were a football power back in the day...but the band always overshadowed them  ;D ;D ;D

Strangely enough, I do own a Transylvania University t-shirt.  My aunt lives in Lexington, KY ...where that school is located.  I think they are D3...but don't have a football program.
