Hello all, my first post as I just found and joined this message board.  I talked to my son Wednesday and asked him how spring practices are going and he said everything is good.  A couple of transfers that he said should be able to help the team next fall are now on the team and getting some reps in.

Go Knights.

Non-football news...the Kohawk Softball team just won their regional and are headed to nationals in New Jersey.  Congrats to all of them!

NewKnightDad

Sorry it took me so long to resopond, I only know one of them was attending UNI last year.  Quite the specimen I guess.
Win or lose we still booze!!

I took the wife and daughter up to Waverly today so our son could spend some time on mother's day with his mom.  We ate at the Fainting Goat for the first time and it wasn't to bad.  I have been to Joe's KnightHawk, the Other Place and the East Bremer Diner before on football weekends.  Joe's was my favorite mainly because of the amount of beer, wings and chili consumed after the last home game last fall. ;D

Spring practice is still going well, I guess they are working the kid that came in from UNI at linebacker right now.  It will be a short summer before the boys are reporting for practice next August.

A Wartburg fan who enjoys beer and comfort food.  I find that somewhat puzzling.  ???
I generally enjoy carrot sticks, orange juice and colby cheese slices before and after Knight Football games.  ;)
This new generation must have different tastes than other Knight fans.   :o

If this transfer turns out to be a roofing running back/return man from Fredericksburg, something tells me that the sh!t won't hit the fan quite like it did two years ago.

It hasn't been said here yet, but congrats to the IIAC spring sports teams that are still competing.  Coe's softballers won the regional in Indianola over the weekend and are on to the next round.  Wartburg won three games on Saturday, including two straight over Luther, to win the conference baseball tourney and move onto NCAA play.  And Central's men and Wartburg's women won IIAC track titles yesterday.  That's the 10th in a row for the Wartburg ladies, who probably have as good a shot as anybody to win the national title in a couple weeks.  Here's hoping that all these teams (and especially the Wartburg ones) fare well and the IIAC can get some respect in the end-of-the-year Director's Cup rankings.

Don't forget the Knights women,  a member of the Duth women's team and the Dutch men playing @ the D3 national golf meet in FLA, starting Wednesday.
