NewKnightDad and Footballdaddy - I also am a parent of a current WB player.   Hope to see you this fall.  Beverages for everyone.
Does that Beverages go to just parents of current players or are parents of past players included ?

What about just past players?

What about former cheerleaders from another team? Some can drink beer with the best of them, I've heard....  ;)

Now I have this image in my head of that scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark.  Harrison Ford walks into that bar in the Himalayas and finds Karen Allen in that drinking contest...about 2 dozen empty shot glasses in front of her and drinks the other guy under the table.

Except in this vision it's Joe's Knighthawk...Walston Hoover is passed out on the floor...warthog and others are looking on in shocked amazement...Then Dutchie says "never underestimate a Central Cheerleader"

Of course the Wartburg clan is in shock...and Dutchie is drinking heavily...because they just learned that earlier in the day, UD had just clinched their first IIAC football title since 1980 ;)

Ddog, I didn't know you could post while dreaming!!!!!!!!!  :D

You must be a bankruptcy attorney to make such an offer in this economy.

Like Old Man SportsKnight always used to tell me:

Whereas I had a flashback to the cheerleaders from the movie "The Waterboy"

Man DLD I can hear the sound of that whip cracking from here!  Even when the kids go to bed the wife does not allow you to break out a PG-13 rated movie or two?

Try to get her to let you have a Will Ferrell movie in the house.
Ever since "Stepbrothers" I don't think I am allowed those.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Fred Jackson resigns with the Bills.  Signed a new one-year deal.  Should have the chance to prove himself during Marshawn Lynch's suspension.

Just in case no one other than my household on here gets the La Porte City Progress-Review ;D

Two Union of La Porte City seniors will be playing football in the IIAC next fall.

Garrett Woodson - QB will be going to Simpson and plans to double major in Athletic Administration and Physical Education.

Cheyne Reiter - RB will play at Buena Vista

They join three other former Union Knights currently playing college football.

Matt Pipho at Miami, Michael Bruns at Dakota Wesleyan, and Rory Hennessy at Simpson.

NewKnightDad

The Knights are adding two more Benton Community athletes to their football roster next year.

Reese Thompson @ RB
Tony Stenberg @ DB  (Also playing baseball)

Levi Montague will be playing basketball for the Knights next year.

Jordan Kaiser will be playing baseball for the Knights next year as well.

The graduating class of 2009 at Benton was a very talented one.  I would have loved to see Levi and Jordan on the football field as well. They are very talented and they are both about 6' 7" tall.

Former Knight All-American Robt. Struthers signs on as head wrestling coach/science teacher at Muscatine High School.  Seems kind of young to take over as head coach at a 4A school, but his interview in the local paper was laced with all the right words.
