I've always figured males have only one clear area of superiority: peeing in the woods! ;D

Acknowledging that females can, in fact, pee in the woods should they evrer choose to, I would amend that to the ability to write one's name in the snow, sand, or on a sidewalk.

That's a huge advantage when you step back and consider it...say you're trapped on a mountain top and trying to hail a rescue copter...

Peeing S.O.S. could be your only hope.    :D

That'd be pretty impressive to have enough urine to write S.O.S. large enough for an aircraft to see it. I'm just saying....

Hey Stormchaser... I have heard the same thing about transfers numbers being up.   My little brother is re-joining the team this fall and it sounds like numbers should be up in Indianola.  He was making it sound like they are going to be pretty young this year as well....  its been sometime since I have followed IIAC football but will be doing so this year!!

So football for me pretty much gets rolling Monday.
OL camp Monday, Tuesday, Wed, practice Thursday, (Oh yeah, also golf Thurs morning and Waverly Muni)
Then the following week, Jr High Camp, Sunday, Mon, Tues, practice Tues night and take off for 3day Central Camp on Wed.
That makes the summer go quite a bit faster. We'll take the next week off (kind of) to test in the weight room and agility and get started for good Aug 1.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Wart -  I talked to my son the other day and word is they'll have a total of about 60 newbies to Indianola this year between freshman and transfers -  They have some holes to fill but shouldn't be terribly young, Coach Glo brings a real winners attitude to campus so they're pretty high about the season.  Opener at Wisconsin - Stout is no gimme so we'll get a better feel September 5.  I know it's tough for you to pull for Simpson but I appreciate your effort   :D :D

Pep has left the Allegheny foothills of Western New York for a Midwest Theme Park Tour with Pep Jr., hitting seven theme parks in seven days. Yesterday, Pep drove from Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL across southern Wisconsin (with stop in Milton, home of the former Milton College where NFL QB great Dave Krieg played his college ball), spending the night in Dubuque, IA. After a morning visit to the Field of Dreams Movie Site, Pep paid a visit to Parkersburg, IA en route to AdventureLand in Altoona, IA (near DesMoines). Pep was amazed at the new construction progress as the town rebuilds from the devastating tornado that decimated half of the town in 2008. Pep also expressed his sympathy to Jan Thomas, widow of A-P Football Coach Ed Thomas, who was an outstanding mentor to young people. Quite a day for Pep.

A theme park tour sounds like a lot of fun.  It has been a long time since I have been on a roller coaster and I understand there has been considerable technological advancement in the field.  I hope to get on a modern one before I become one of the guys who is the subject of the warning signs you see while you stand in line.  Does Pep have a distinct whoop he uses while coastering or do you just scream like a sissy like I do?

That sounds like a fun vacation.  Great idea to make stops along the way as well.  The Field of Dreams field is a fun place to visit.  I often wonder if they had any idea while filming the movie the impact it would have with people.  20 years later it is still going strong.  Parkersburg has really rebounded from the tornado.  It's amazing to come into the town from the north.  Coming into town from the north it's business as usual...old houses with big trees in the yard.  Then it just stops and everything is new with no trees.

As for pep bands, last year I noticed the University of Dubuque pep band had come a long ways from my days in the band.  They were a big unit with a lot of talent in the band.  I enjoyed seeing that almost as much as seeing a packed stadium and a big win for Dubuque.  In my day, we were almost as interested in passing the bota around as playing for the 200 or so fans that would show up for the game.  Much different experiance these days at UD.

How about the classic screaming like a little girl while on the coaster...then after getting off telling everyone it wasn't much of a ride ;)

The log ride is about all I am man enough to go on.  With my brother-in-law living right next to Adventureland I'm thinking I have many more trips to Adventureland in my future...with my wife telling my kids to ask dad to take them on the roller coaster >:(
