Once again, I don't know what the hell we're talking about.

Out of respect for our small-curded Coe brethren, we observed a 20 hour silence...These poor Coe brethren, who, lamenting the small size of their curds, may not be able to bring themselves to purchase the 2009 Kickoff publication by D3football.com.

I am really not sure where D-Gator was going...

;D

I'm not sure where I was going either but I was on a roll and figured that I should ride it out.  Doesn't happen often I'm afraid!  Sorry to our small curded Coe friends I was trying to deflect some of the focus ???

I would have thought "Cheese curds" would be the off-season topic in WIAC board.  ;D ;D ;D

NT's Hanus to play football at Dubuque

TRAER --- North Tama High multi-sport standout Wyatt Hanus has announced his intention to attend the University of Dubuque next season to play football.

Hanus was the varsity quarterback for three years at North Tama, leading the Redhawks to a 29-5 record and a state runner-up finish last season. He broke 11 North Tama records while finishing with 4,698 passing yards and 50 career TDs. He earned first-team all-state and academic all-state honors.

I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

I know some of you liked to give the Simpson SID a hard time for coming on here once a year or so and flying off the handle. But after Simpson ran him out of I-town earlier this spring, I'm glad to see he found a good job.

The only thing I know about curds, is that in Wisconcin, they say they're only good if they're squeaky.
NKD: "We need a f**king touchdown, excuse my French"
FBD: "I didn't know touchdown was French."

Darn, I'm gonna miss his annual meltdown...   :'(

Taking the Marshall job doesn't mean he has to give up his D3football persona.

Maybe he'll find time for one last rant...for old times sake.    :D

Since he's not around anymore, anybody know how long Simpson's streak of not getting shut-out at home is?

Saw him play in the state semifinal last fall and was pretty impressed.  He probably has a D1 arm, but isn't big enough to play QB at that level.  That said, he's a damn good athlete, and is a threat to tuck it under and run if nothing opens up downfield.  Not saying he's the second coming of Jermar Jackson by any stretch of the imagination, but he'll definitely remind Spartan fans of old #6.

Since there have been ... on these hallowed pages ... occassional aspersions cast on UD's academics and athletics ... its good to see a bona-fide student-athlete commit to the Spartan nation!

You're absolutely right.

How can you ask a man to go without a small package of pork rinds?
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

I like seeing 1st team all-state kids from Iowa playing for UD.  Hopefully this trend continues.

I was able to talk IIAC football today while doing an inspection.  I talked to a father of a kid that started at UNI, he played 2 years at UNI before transferring to Wartburg.  He said his son lost his love for the game while at UNI.  After deciding to leave UNI he began to get calls from Wartburg.  Initially he told Wartburg he wasn't interested.  Mainly because he didn't want to spend 30k a year to go there.  After Wartburg worked up a finantial package for him he was able to go to Wartburg for thousands less per year than the 1/2 scholarship and other aid packages he got from UNI.  And his love for the game returned.  I wish these kids that say they want to play for a scholarship and won't go to a D3 school understood this.

If that man is Jewish or Muslim...it wouldn't be hard to do ;)

Good to see Matt Turk land on his feet at Marshall.  He might have had a melt down once in a while on here.  But I liked his enthusiasm for Simpson and his job.  Did his dismissal at Simpson have anything to do with budget cuts?  Replace an SID that had been at the school for 12 years with a kid 1 year out of college?!?!
