Hey, hey, what do you say, Kohawk football reported today! (And they looked huge, too.)

I've heard from a few loyal posters that I've been missed around here. Well I'm back and ready for the 2009 season.

(I'm sure many more of you haven't missed me a bit, but I'm staying anyway.)

Go Coe!

Charlie, you remind me of many Lorass posters.........when they are winning, they are everywhere running their mouths! When their team isn't doing so hot, they disappear  :o

But, I will put all our past disagreements aside and be one of the first to welcome you back  ;D

Willie U

Not to jump down your throat, but I feel like I should defend my fellow Kohawk:
CK has had a pretty busy summer (which, is, the off season in football) with baseball and CoeBrai (Wartburg, poor showing this year). I would also say that Charlie doesn't run his mouth much either

Not trying to start a war with all the little Kohawkians, just offered a little welcome back to my ole buddy CK. If anything, you would think one of the Lorass faithful would read that and be so kind as to bless us with their presence PRIOR to their first win  :-*

We are in heavy debates in my fantasy football league about free agent pick ups. MAN I cannot wait for football season!!!!!

D-Dog, haven't heard about the "fastest cornell player transfer" but I have heard that future Spartan warriors are coming in bunches from the surrounding lands....... :o

for Doolittle...

it's my understanding that a former cornell player is going to be joining the UD fball team.  and seeing as how he was arguably the fastest guy on the team i suspect it gives UD yet another good returner/playmaker.

The player in question was lost to us last year...he elected not to play in 2008 after his freshman year in 2007.  He is certainly fast, but I think the fastest Ram over the last couple of years was Hardman...arguably.

Anyway, I know of the player in question, Wascenske, and I thought he was a tough little player on '07, so I was somewhat disappointed when he did not play in '08.  That said, as a freshman in '07, his impact was minimal...but it would be fair to say we expected increased productivity in 2008.

In terms of '09, this is purely DBQ's gain; Cornell can't lose what it didn't have.  I think it's great to hear the kid is resuming his football career.

I am going to go out on a limb here...partly just open an old Coe scab  ;) ...and say this does not register anywhere near the magnitutude of say...Neil Suckow leaving the Kohawks to become a Kanigget.

;D

Is it just me or are we closing the gap on the number of pages between us and the MIAC board?

It must be just you.

If being 1283 pages behind is closing the gap......go for it! ???

And you don't have ice fishing to talk about so I don't think you stand a chance. ;D

Who said we dont have ice fishing in Iowa.  Last time I checked it got cold enough to freeze your marbles off and there are quite a few angles in the Hawkeye state as well.

You are right Klop but here in Iowa its not a past time like up there.

So who is in charge of the pick em's this year and who thinks that dutchie can climb out of the cellar she dug her self last season ;D

I looked back at last year's results -- I went 35-19. I wasn't first, but I certainly wasn't the worst, either. (I did have to relinquish my "first place" crown, which I intend to win back this year.)

Bring it, Klop.

I am not singing I am bringing drama dutchie...My first full year in the pick ems and I do recall that I did best you, just like the games of pool ;)

Thats probably true.  But you have to admit the ice stays a lot longer in Northern Minny than Southern Iowa.  So they have longer to fish.   ;D

It's you.  The MIAC board is extremely active.  Unlike Iowa, there's nothing else to do in Minnesota if you are not ice fishing.

Actually they've got some good stuff on that MIAC board...read the string on SJU's kickoff luncheon and John Gagliardi's annual blast on the Tommies!   :D

He is a tough guy, but I don't believe his impact was minimal.  He averaged a respectable 4.8 yds/carry in a limited role in 10 games on the offensive side of the ball.  He also led team in return yards and but for a holding penalty would have took one to the house that would have all but sealed the Coe/Cornell game.  And having run track with him, he was clearly the fastest guy out there.  In my eyes it's one more weapon UD has...and one more weapon that Cornell doesn't.  All this leads back the to terrible return rate Cornell has.  Someones gotta start keeping these kids around...whether its coaches making promises they can't keep or the vast amounts of corn out there.  Someone's gotta sit back and figure out what's making these kids bail or you are not going to see any type of improvement on the field.
