He was likely commenting about some of us Wartburg fans.  He didn't like us either.  ::)

Glad to know there's common ground then.
4 IIAC football championships
8 NCAA football playoff appearances
13 straight wins over Cornell in the oldest football rivalry west of the Mississippi

Hallelujah Brother Martin!!!

Dear God;

Stop PH/84's argument.

Amen

Stop?  Now?  I'm ginning up for the start of football.

If I don't work out the kinks in a scrimmage situation with the likes of 84, how will be I able to hold my ground against the likes of W-H or DF4k or the Coe Nation when the regular season starts?

I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

Last year's record made me kind of forget about Coe. This year will tell if they've slipped down for good to a second-division team or is still a contender.

Might just be the difference between suiting up for media day and suiting up for a game, but it looks to me like Coe added some gold shoulder stripes to their home jerseys.

Does the PH/Speed84 Colonel banter remind anyone of the CooCoo/CharlieKo back/forth a few years ago?

Very entertaining.....

KC- We must think alike. I was trying to think of what brought that on. They were not happy with each other though.

There is also a gold stripe down the each side.  They look pretty sharp.  I'm doubting we see the crimson/crimson look anymore...

Either that's a Fish-eye lens or Harrison and Yeast have a terrible case of Rod Laver Arm (one arm waaay bigger than the other) in addition to Gumby Head Syndrome

:D

It's a nice article otherwise...

Coes hopes, I think, ride on the backs of their defense...

The offense seems to have some uncertainty at the QB position and with the Offensive Line, having Hammes shoulder the load looks like some potentially low scoring games for the Kohawks.

With an accomplished kicker in Rausa, they seem to be tailor made to play low risk, field position football.

This team reminds me of the one of my teams where we put all the studs on defense, we ALWAYS punted it away on 4th and short, and we kept backing up the other team, giving us short fields to drive.

My QB had a 2:1 TD:INT ratio...he threw 2 TD's and 1 INT on the year.  A lot of screens and short passes.  We had a stud runner and a punter/kicker who would go on to punt for the Packers and 49ers.  A 17-3 win was a blowout for us.  It was ugly but effective.

The best thing we did was lose the ego on the offensive side of the ball and let the defense set us up.

If I were Staker, I would be optimistic with what he has to work with.

That said, Coe sucks.    8)

Going to go up and catch a Wartburg practice on friday.  I am looking forward to seeing how things are shaking out, it is early but never to early to watch football.   ;D
