Stupid Brett Favre.  ::)

That made me laugh! In reality, most in my family are packer fans, 1 stray bears fan, and myself a cowboy fan. After many years of hating the packers just because, I grew to be a really big fan of Farve and really started to cheer the packers on--except when playing the cowboys of course.

Everyone has differing opinions and I know Brett has his own"issues" with retirement or playing, etc... but I do not feel the packer organization handled him properly. MY opinion, he was the FACE of that organization for a long time, brought them much success, and future hall of famer. So what if he retires, then changes his mind, as long as he can play---which he still can-----if you are the packers, you let Brett play as long as he wants to. He will know when it's time to hang it up.

And personally, I don't think it is yet. I think this year will be his last regardless of outcome. He wanted to be a viking last year when packers didn't want him back. The packers set it up so that he couldn't go to a division team. Had he gone to minnesota last year, I think he would have helped them to greater success and retired, for good.

I could be wrong though  ;D

Hey WH, I hear there is a certain former Cyclone receiver on the Dowling Catholic staff. His first cousin is footballkid's roomate for the last two years. How's his ankle and will he be able to resume his career?

The reason they had to stop with that was because they had all ready drafted their "QB of the future" in Aaron Rodger, and his contract was up after last year. They wouldn't be able to keep Rodgers around any more if they kept jerking him around. Then the Pack would have been screwed when Farve played the "I think I'll retire, nope, yup, maybe" game again this year. They wouldn't have had a good QB waiting in the wings anymore. They made a football decision allowing Brett to walk and giving the franchise to Rodgers, which was the plan. I think that they made a pretty good decision, Rodgers threw for 4k yards and 26 TD's last year, they alianated some fans, but those fans realized they were better off when Rodgers started playing better then they would be down the road with Farve. Even though they finished 6-10, I'm sure Farve wasn't going to be able to open a hole for a running back or stop the other teams.

I completely agree!!!! At the end of the day the Packers needed someone who could help them win for more then half a season. Though I'm a Bears fan I respect Farve and what he has done for Green Bay, the position, and football in general. But I honestly feel that he needs to step down.  People say "if he can still do it then he should play". I dont feel that's the point, of course he can still do it he's one of the best to ever do it. But can he do it at a high level for 16 weeks? I say no. what you do you guys think?

Boy, I missed a lot yesterday on here as I spent the whole day at the Iowa State Fair.  I've never actually been to the state fair (unless you count age 4) and I've lived in this state my whole life so it was pretty fun to go and check everything out.  The main reason I went was because my grandparents and the family were being recognized for our farm that we've had in our family for over 100 years, the actual date of the farm started in 1841 so it meant a great deal to my grandmother.

Other than that the media day at Coe looked great, love the new unis and the 3 LB's look huge, throw in newcomer Weymiller who transfered from IA State and lookout!  Go Kohawks!

I will give honorable mention D2 props to Washburn University in Kansas.  Any school who's sports teams are the Ichabods gets my seal of approval.

Beer - any and all beer.

I had a good idea my wife was a keeper when she ordered Guinness on one of our first dates.  Now she bought me brewing supplies for my last birthday and told me to get brewing in the basement again after many years of hibernation from brewing.
