Quote from: DBQ1965 on September 03, 2009, 03:10:18 PMI notice some "new" names, so to up-date the IIAC Fan Base, anyone who doesn't see their name below, let me know who you are and what team you back.

Dutch Radio

I'll let you figure out what team :)

Also - I'm going to be tweeting throughout Central games this year with scoring updates, etc.  VoiceoftheDutch is my handle.

It would be awesome if we had someone from each team that could reliably tweet during the games so that we could all keep up to date on what's going on around the conference.  Anyone else able to do so?

Tweeting would be cool but so would schools actually using our Scoreboard page and posting updated scores. Much easier than scrolling through TweetDeck.

I'm all for that as well - whatever works so that we can get updated scores throughout the games.  Is the Scoreboard page only accessible to SIDs or someone from the college (in terms of posting)?

The reason I suggested twitter here is that's something that we as fans can do to keep each other updated, in the absence of the schools actually doing it themselves through the scoreboard (which I agree would be much easier if they would do it).

Below is the up-dated IIAC Fan Base.  Let me know if you are missing, in the wrong slot, etc.

I'm debating the trip over to Rockford on Saturday.  After 11 hours driving back from Minneapolis, I'm not sure I want to spend 10 hours driving on Saturday ... even if it is to see a Spartan victory ... and Zweifel's first game as the UD Head Coach.  We shall see.

I'll be at Dalzell Field tonight watching the Wahlert-Hempstead game.  Then heading to Monmouth Saturday to watch the Duhawks.

I do have to say that I'm still pretty confused on the who's who's in the high school level of Iowa football. Who's the decades powerhouses and who's the upcoming champion? What I do know is it is Friday and it's time to watch some football. A prelude to the opening day of college ball.
I'm going to be listening to the Central game via my computer, but that's alright. I can yell at my computer just as well as my TV. Let the week end begin!! ;D ;D ;D

ALong the Mississippi River, Bettendorf is the long time power.

The game of the week in DM area is Dowling Catholic of West Des Moines verses West DM Valley. The game will be played @ Drake University field in DM. Probably 15k fans.

You find a lot of players on IIAC rosters from the smaller school levels

Walston Hoover

I don't know that I've seen more hype for a Dowling/Valley game than I'm seeing for tonight. Hopefully we can keep up with last year's state champs.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Speaking of Iowa high school football.  IIAC coaches need to start contacting Steven McGarvey, the Union of La Porte City High kicker.  He made field goals of 42, 44, and 47 yards last weekend with no missed tries.  He is also the QB and threw for 3 TDs' in their 50-13 win over Webster City.  With former BVU coach Joe Hadechek coaching Union, hopefully he has some coaching contacts and can help place some kids with IIAC programs if that is what the kid is looking for.

Thanks for th links, because everything was starting to sound like...
"Seeing as how the V.P. is such a V.I.P. shouldn't we keep the P.C. on the Q.T. 'cause if it leaks to the V.C. he could become a M.I.A. and then we'd all be put out on K.P." Robin Williams

Dubuque Telegraph-Herald has their football picks for this weekend.

http://www.thonline.com/article.cfm?id=255479

They predict a Loras win over Monmouth ::)

A UD win over Rockford.

A close win for BVU over UW-Platteville...saying special teams could make the difference in the game.

Time is running out to join the IIAC Forever group on ESPN's weekly Pick 'em contest.  Each week ESPN gives you 10 BCS teams' games where you pick the winner and rate your confidence level on each pick.

To join the IIAC Forever group ... go to http://games.espn.go.com/cpickem/en/frontpage ... and sign up.  The password for the group is IIAC2009.

Only doolittledog and I are signed up so far.  Surely you don't want UD Spartan Nation to steal all the glory!

Strange, there were a few others signed up not too long ago.

24 hours and 1 minute untill kickoff!!!
