Not a bit. I just said the whole game felt like a funeral. I know it is commonplace now, but that was the first time they had teams come on the field for the Anthem in the IIAC, as well as a moment of silence.
Just not your normal Saturday atmosphere for a football game.

I think the entire nation felt some guilt for going back to normal life pursuits.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

My interest in rankings is more based on conference respect.  I see 3 WIAC teams, 2 MIAC and 2 CCIW in the ranking and Central is all alone for now.  I think in most years the IIAC should deserve two spots, and thus two possible playoff bids.  We'll see what happens as the year goes on, for now good luck to all IIAC's except DBQ this week.

61 consecutive seasons without a losing season
IIAC/ARC champs 39, 45, 46, 56, 64, 65, 66, 67, 74, 77, 78, 81, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 89, 90, 92, 94, 95, 98, 00, 01, 02, 05, 06, 07, 09, 19, 21
NCAA Playoffs 74, 77, 78, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, 92, 94, 95, 98, 99, 00, 01, 02, 05, 06, 07, 09, 19, 21

Ok Bears fans - was it Cutler or the receivers who stunk worse than a confinement building on a hot August day?  I hate losin' to the Pack!

I am not sure that most years that the IIAC deserve two in the top 25.  I think that the IIAC has enough talent to get two in but you have Coe beating a down Augustana team which gets a win over the CCIW but the other win against a middle of the road MIAC team is not all that noteworthy for the voters to vote for Coe.  If Coe keeps it rolling they might pick up some steam.  Wartburg is the team that would be getting more votes had they not stubbed their toe on opening weekend.  St Norberts is only getting 11 points and Wartburg is getting 24 this week.  Until the IIAC can keep 2 or 3 teams perfect in NC games and wind up with like 2 or 3 5-0 or 6-0 teams I think there will be only 1 ranked team.  Top to bottom the IIAC is not real strong against other conferences.  We only had a 10-8 NC record so that is not really very strong.  The WIAC on the other hand has only 3 losses 2 of those coming against St Johns.  One of those ranked MIAC teams.  There are three MIAC teams in the top 25, Those three teams are 5-0 with some quality wins.  Coe can climb into the rankings maybe if they can keep winning.  But in two weeks one of the two remaining undefeated teams will have a loss so if they make it in the top 25 it will have to be next week to get two teams in cause one of them is going to lose on the 26th of this month.  The IIAC has a tendency to beat up each other a lot as do the WIAC and MIAC.  Until the IIAC goes like 17-2 or 14-5 against some of the better teams around I don't think (and rightfully so) the conference will get more than one ranked team.

Not a Bears fan but I think it was a combination of both.  At times Cutler was bad and at times the receivers were bad as well.

I'm about as far from being a Bears fan as they come, but I'll reply anyway. I think you have to give the Packer defense some degree of credit for the performance of Cutler and the Bear receivers. Green jerseys were flying all over the place.

Bears fan here.  Still shaking my head.  I was so thrilled to get a pro-bowl QB in Chicago that I couldn't stop smiling when I said the name Cutler for months after the trade.  IMHO, lots of fault to go around but I first blame the WR's.  I don't think any of them ran a complete route on every pick but that doesn't explain the other 2 passes that could have been picks that were thrown right at the boys in green.  ???  He may have lost confidence in the route running early and then it all unraveled quickly.  I also felt like the weight of the Packers/Bears rivalry may have been a little heavy for him to carry so early in the season.  He handled the Denver situation great but that was about his own pride.   Charlie Kohawk is right on as well.  The Packer D was tenacious, brought the pressure early and often!  Now with the loss of Urlacher, well, let's just say that if you are a Bears fan, life just turned on a dime.  But I'm trying not to panic.  Cutler is the real deal and he will pick himself back up from this and turn it around.  I just wish he had someone better to throw to!    ;)

Bears fan here also. Chicago native. I stopped shaking my head a long time ago.
They say if you don't like the weather in Chicago, wait for tomorrow. (changes that much)
Same with the Bears. If you don't like what you see, wait till next week.

If the Bears make you shake your head, try being a Cubs Fan! :o ::)

Maybe not this week,  with the Steelers coming to town.

Not to get to deep on the NFL here, but I can't believe he didn't check down to Forte any more then he did. He's probably their best or 2nd best receiver.

Fixed it for you.

FBD: "I didn't know touchdown was French."

Speaking of prayers, tipped passes for a winning touchdown and the like.  Anyone have stories of any IIAC games that ended with a miracle play?

Central and their "miracle in the mud" game at Linfield comes to mind.  Any others???

DutchFan2004

One that should come to mind to you doolittle.  The 3 OT game in Dubuque with a kick that was tipped and found its way over the goal line.
