Think back to the movie Office Space...

...better to have a roofing job and enjoying the great outdoors, than to be sitting in a cubicle and getting yelled at by your superior for forgetting to put a cover sheet on your TPS report ;)

Hey, I was doing some roofing yesterday! I don't know about "the great outdoors". It's still 105/106 degrees out here.
This isn't going to put me into the Wartberg Wartbarg Wartburg status of edumication, is it? :o
......and I still have my stapler! ::)

I am pretty sure I am going to go to Mount Vernon tomorrow.  I have to drive to Iowa Falls Sunday to play rugby, I don't need two long drives this weekend.   I'll look for CaliRam at the game.
There's a spare seat in the Chuckmobile if you want to tag along to Pella. 10 a.m. departure from Coe. Home by 6ish. No driving required. Most excellent company along the way.

Forget the great outdoors. It tipped the scale at 120 the other day over here. Its just mean to have it that hot. Good luck to the Dutch; however, I get the feeling that all is not lost for whoever loses todays game. You still have to get through WB and the rest of the league but I would think that a 9-1 record to finish the season would earn an at large bid. Just saying....

I get to the Cornell webcast just in time to see a pick six after a receiver slipped. I think that ends my webcast watching for the day.

Sitting in the press box at Beaver Stadium in Happy Valley.  Just mentioned the Central score to the two Register reporters here.  To say there was little interest would be putting it generously.

But you can bet your @$$ that if the Dutch make the playoffs and make a little bit of a run there, the Register will be all over Pella acting like they've been covering Central all year.

Looks like a dominating performance from the Dutch today, statistically speaking as I am still at work and its all I can go by. I know 10 yards rushing by Coe isn't super impressive as they were running 5 wide no huddle all day but still a solid effort. Also held them under 200 yards offense while putting up 400(?) ish of their own. This win is especially impressive to me due to the way the series has been the last 6 years or so, always close games. Keep building this momentum all year and its going to be exciting for the Dutch.

Also...the Register sucks. Ive said this before but Drake would be a middle of the road IIAC team. I get tired of hearing about them all the time and no love given to any IIAC schools. Also reading about Grand View gets old too. How long have they had football now?
(Sorry for the bitterness but I imagine my fellow IIAC fans can empathize!)

Good luck the rest of the year to Coe, with those 2 solid out of conference wins they can win out and with some luck have a legit shot at the playoffs!! Gotta get 2 IIAC teams in and do some damage.

Hope everyone else stayed healthy and congrats to the victors.

just got back from Pella and enjoying a cold brew in this great weather!  I will say the Dutch win was methodical and efficient.  It took some long drives to score, the Rhinos moved the pile all day allowing DZ to go for 123 on 22 carries.  Nice job!  J. Snead caught 12 for 137 so I'll assume Nate had over 200 throwing and 50-100 rushing.  Overall a good day  Brody was hit often and kept off balance, leading to what looked like a very sub par day for the Kohawk QB

Congrats to Simpson for pulling one out and ruining my perfect day in the picks.  Warty took care of business and Cornell gave DBQ half a game.  Too bad they couldn't hang in there, there will be a lot of excitement in IIAC games this year!

It was a great effort by both sides of the ball today.  I think the Dutch put together a complete game today.  Great crowd for homecoming as usual.  Coe traveled better than they have I think.  When you can double an opponents average points allowed and keep them to have of what they score you can usually put a W up.  I think David Zachery is running as hard as I have seen any back in the last few years.  He is moving the pile, braking tackles, and falling forward.  He has really developed into a great weapon for the Dutch.

...and Cornell gave DBQ half a game.

Corenll gave them quarter of a game.

1st and 10 from the 1...Fumble!  Instead of 20-7 Rams, DBQ takes care of business making it 14-13.

Story of our year so far.

Very disappointed that we can let 1 play have such an effect...but when it happens repeatedly the monkey on the back turns into a gorilla.

When it happened I turned to Doolittle Dog and said this is a turning point moment.  I don't always like being right.

Still there was plenty of game left to change our fortunes and we didn't.  The Spartans turned up the heat and looked good on offense.  Was not impressed by their defense.  They're going to win by shootout...and they can.

I said it last week and it was true.  It isn't Zweifel's kid, it's the kid throwing the ball you have to limit.  The DBQ took advantage of what Wartburg couldn't last week.  Hansen hit the deep routes, Yordi didn't.

Hansen is the superior QB to Yordi right now.

Good to have you back in the state PH.  Wish you could be coming to the Central game next weekend.  Always glad to get you back here.  It will be a good game next week I am sure.

Just got back from a fun Central homecoming -- I could echo what everyone else said, but who needs to? :) It was a methodical performance -- D looked tight, lots of speed on the offense. Glad the Snead boys went Dutch. Having several SEP boys on the sidelines certainly helped the team gel early. Great display of Central football -- the word to the rest of the conference is.... We're Ba-ack. :)

Good effort by Coe, but made a few mistakes at what could have been crucial moments. The Kohawks should have a decent rest of the season, but they may face a few more bumps along the way.

P.S. Good to see DF04 wandering into the game, and several other Dutch faithful as well.

Go Dutch!

Great to see DF1 as always.  You really should stay out of the eastern part of the state on Saturdays.  Your bright face shining on the stadium really has to help the Dutch with their winning ways.
