My wife feels liked I tricked her by us getting engaged in August.  She REALLY wanted a fall wedding, but I held firm that a fall wedding was just too soon to get everything organized.  So we had a March wedding.  And then everyone at the reception huddled around the bar TV to watch ISU lose to Michigan St. in their elite 8 game that night ::)

Now, after all these years she agrees that there shouldn't be fall weddings because of football.  I guess I have been a positive influence on her after all.  We actually had 4 weddings to go to this fall.  But we decided to only go to two of them.  Today and on the 24th we will be at weddings of cousins we are pretty close to.

But yes, even my wife now agrees.  Man law: No Fall Weddings!!!

We will be at the Dog House homecoming weekend.  Might even buy a round for sportsknight if he shows up, unless Mr. Harris is already buying ;D.  Unfortunately, my wifes cousin (who went to Wartburg) is getting married (to a Loras grad) the weekend of the UD/Wartburg game, so we won't be at that game.  The last time I talked to him he suggested we skip the wedding and go to the game in Dubuque, but upon further reflection he decided it might be a good idea for him to actually attend his own wedding.

OK guys (and DF1) this is VERY important and we must stick together on this one.  New Man Law:  NO FALL WEDDINGS!  Haven't these gals ever heard of the June bride?  This is serious mental and emotional stress to make a well respecting gentlemen of this fine game spend Sat. afternoons in the fall either getting married, observing friends getting married or celebrating anniversaries.  It becomes a lifeling handicap that can be avoided through wise selections of wedding dates.   What say the jury on this?

Absolutely agree -- I won't want to miss football that day any more than he will.... I've considered missing weddings of friends due to where they fell on the football schedule. (Oops. That didn't go over well...)

Okay....I must raise my hand and stand with my head a little tilted forward. I was married in October. ::)

BUT.....What a gal I married! Come Saturday, She has the schedule laided out for football. I'm the one being told to get out of the way of the TV. The questions on the play calling are announced loudy (polite way to say yelling), so everyone can hear throughout the house. To top that, this is all after a great night of Friday high school football! And a good win, Friday or Saturday, will mean a good night for me! :o
PLUS....My beautiful small wife produced three very large football players. I often tell her, you made some good ones hun.  ;D

So to add a clause to the New Man Law, make sure you marry the right lady! ;)

I forgot to add....

If any of you are having trouble with finding this clause
in the New Man Law, it will be in

Section 8
Paragraph 3
Line 3 (in bold)

Make sure that she presses hard when she signs!
There's 5 copies for the signature to go through! ;D

Good luck to all today. Sounds like the weather is pretty crappy back in Iowa. Still into the 100s over here. Heys, hope your son has a good (but not too good) a game against the Dutch. I might be able to catch some of the updates. I have radio guard from 2-4 in the morning here (its 9.5 hours ahead).

ABD:  You take care of yourself, taking care of us.  SoCal weather is...well...SoCal weather.  Looking forward to the Rams locking horns with the Dutch.

You Dutch folks have a lot of class, but it is my hope that today you are all disappointed maybe even horrified (it is October) as the Rams end their IIAC streak in shocking fashion.

Either way, a good game for all and no injuries for any across the IIAC.

Go Rams!    :)

I am having my weekly problem finding the Central football game video.  Does anyone have it?

Congrats to Coe for a big win.  You must have really come to play.

PH hope that Jr was not hurt to seriously.  I thought he was out just cause the rest of the first team was out.  It was a reserve game most of the second half for both sides.

Good win for the Dutch, now on to the Storm.

A little disappointed in no stats yet..  no need though, i guess,  the Dutch dominated in the trenches, both sides.  At half I did hear is was about 250-47 total offense.  Zachary was running possessed and he had big holes -119 on 20 carrries at halftime!

PH JR made a nice catch in traffic for a big gain.  He really is a great weapon but just had no chance really to make much difference in this one.  Hope his injurfy is minor.

I'm done picking Simpson, Really thought Coach Glo was going to have immediate impact there.  Anyone at Coe able spread some light an an amazing defensive effort holding DBQ to 7 pts?  Now I'm really glad Coe is in the rear view mirror.

It was a real good day for the Dutch O line.  The O line opened holes all day.  I did see even at the end the line was opening holes.  #71 was even doing a good job in the 4th quarter.

525 - 86 yards total offense

No offense to the Ram fans but thats what I expect to see out of a Central team.

What is to be expected, PH hope, PH jr is not injured too seriously. Good luck the rest of the season!

Good work Dutch...on to next week.

Jr. should be fine.  Thanks all.  He expects to be ready for next week.

Central really hitting on all cylinders...total domination by the Central Lines on both sides of the ball

We were never allowed to get anything going.

Just gotta forget about it and move on to next week.

On the flip side...Jr. finished with 57 rec. yards on one half of play, leaving him with 999 for his career, would most likely gotten to 1k in the 2nd half...

Almost better to not hit that personal milestone in such a blowout.

Shocked by the beat down Coe put on the DBQ...

Zweifel's kid looked to have a hand injury last week and what I overheard as I was leaving last week's game sounded pretty serious.

I wonder if that boosted Coe's efforts to slow him down...he had a rather pedestrian day with 6 recpts for 40 or so yards.

Coe's offense sure got better in a hurry.
