'04-
We are burning the midnight oil. Very talented team this year and if we don't go as far as our potential, we don't want it to be because of something we as coaches did.
Similar situation with the sophs I coach. Undefeated for 3 years running now, a 26 game streak currently and if we lose, it won't be because of lack of preparation.
Whole program is in good shape- All levels, including junior reserve and Freshmen B are undefeated. Hopefully we can keep this rolling.
As for Wartburg, not much to talk about coming off the bye week. I was told there was some changes made on the offensive side of the ball to get the best athletes on the field together more, and that the recievers are catching the ball much better which is what the KNights are going to need if there is another conference title and playoff run in the works.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

It isn't easy trying to have a rivalry all by myself.  But I'll give it my best shot.
Q: How do you know when it is homecoming at Simpson?
A: The rest of the country smells better.
I kid! I kid!

I guess it could be worse.  I could be trying to get some interest in the Dubuque Loras game.

Oh - oh I get it that was a joke - I almost missed it.
A few questions Fannopotamus
Why do Dutch always enter a bar through the BACK DOOR?
Why do the Dutch have no discernable sense of humor?  (Your's is a good example)
Finally at what point should a town the size of Pella become concerned with in breeding?

Curses I'm very familiar with. I'm originally from Chicago and still a fan.
But are there curses I should be aware of in the IIAC? :o

Doolittle,

I have to be in your area this PM.  I am reffing a Jr High game in Dysart tonight.

They had a game under the lights last night in LPC.  That is a lot of football going on!!!

I'd try to talk my wife into letting me head down to Dysart but she just told me I am helping her clean the upstairs tonight :'(  She has me on a short leash...but since we will be spending this weekend in Dubuque with my old friends I have to be good ;)

We grew up in a two story house and we used to jump out the window.  ;D
So, cut the leash and jump out the window. Done Deal! ::)

Good Lord, I just brought my son down to Pella. Am I going to have to worry about inner breeding?
I was wondering why they brought me through the back door when I went down to visit?
I thought it was because everyone else at Central was lining up at the front door.
Also, I got really confused with the coaches discernable humor about "the one game schedule".
I thought, "What a short season!"

I am reading a lot on how Central fans shouldn't be talking about, Shhhh, the playoffs (in a low voice).

I hope I don't step over any lines here, but this has always been my way of thinking. Positive thoughts, words are very strong and I don't believe in luck.
I believe the Central Dutch are going to the playoffs! I believe this is a very strong team. I think Central has great players and coaches to make this happen.

What is really wrong with saying that? It's almost like your winning big at half time during a game and someone doesn't want you to get excited and voice about the strong possibility of winning the game in the second half. "You'll jinx us".

When I was talking to the coaches at Central before making the decision to send my son there, I asked questions. Not how's the weather? Football questions and I believed this is a winning program on and off the field.

Yes, I know how a good season can go bad and a bad can go to good. Garretts team last year started 2-3. They won all the rest of their games and went to the State Championship Final.

That's what seasons and games are. Up and down. So, enjoy it while its up. I hope this is not insulting to anyone from this team or other teams, but I would be glad for you if your team was riding high on the rollercoaster.

Go Dutch!

HAPPY OUTFLY to all KNIGHTS !!!!

Yes. Happy Outfly to everyone, except Beavers, Rams, Spartans, Duhawks, Dutch, Norse, Storm, Kohawks, oh, and Peacocks for good measure.

Why do Dutch always enter a bar through the BACK DOOR?
A: Not always.  Just when there is free parking in the back.
Why do the Dutch have no discernable sense of humor?  (Your's is a good example)
A: Discernment is a gift.  Maybe someday you'll get it.
Finally at what point should a town the size of Pella become concerned with in breeding?
A: Not until the babies start being born with feet shaped like wooden shoes.

Ok, since there is no Dubuque/Loras banter like the Central/Simpson stuff going on.  Though it's really just Central.  Here goes...

Stan Zweifel once won a national title without even being the coach.

Loras sucks because Stan Zweifel says so.

Stan Zweifel flipped the foreign language building upside down, because he is All American and that's how he rolls.

What others call an irresistable force meeting an immovable object, Stan Zweifel commonly refers to as my offense scrimmaging my defense.

Stan Zweifel read War and Peace. He liked the first half.

Stan Zweifel can win a game of chess with a pawn, a paperclip, and the top hat from a Monopoly game.

Stan Zweifel is Chuck Norris's hero.

UD has Tony Danza as an alum...Loras has Greg Gumbel as an alum...advantage Spartan Nation ;D ;D ;D

After Jim Leavitt learned how to coach by having spurrier under him at UD in the early 1980's,  he then went on to become HC at the University of South Florida...and is responsible for driving Bobby Bowden into retirement!!!
