I understand there were some discussions in Kansas City last week concerning an NCAA and NAIA merger.  Has anyone read or seen anything about it?

I think there are about as many NAIA teams in Iowa as there are NCAA D3.  It might be interesting to have two NCAA D3 leagues competing in the state.

There are MORE NAIA than D3

I knew I wasn't going to make the top ten lists with the post that I wrote.
I did underline a couple of the lines so there may be an understanding that I didn't mean any offense to anyone.

I hope I don't step over any lines here
Seems like I did step over some lines

I hope this is not insulting to anyone from this team or other teams
Also seems this past post may have been considered too bold or abrasive.

I know that I'm new to this league and to this board. I didn't mean any offense to anyone and didn't want to seem too enthusiastic, but I'm not the conservative fan who doesn't speak his mind. Unfortunately, if I have something to say I usually say it.

If you haven't noticed my posts usually consist of comments, questions and an effort to try to get an occasional laugh. I do realize that I am only a fan and not a player or coach. I'm not the one on the field getting all bruised up and putting forth the efforts to try to accomplish a win.

Thanks Klompen for watching my back

I haven't been insulted or offended by any of your posts.  I don't even care if you want to talk about the play-offs with half of the season left to play.  I would join you except that people on here have long memories and in the unlikely event that things don't go as we Central fans would like them to, I don't want people to be able to make fun of me for premature celebration.  I normally like to look at things in the long-term.  But right now, I just want Central to beat up on Simpson.

Just booked plane tix to Iowa for November to catch the Rams-Loras tilt.  It'll be Senior Day for Jr. plus I'm bringing Mrs. Heys and Rev. 3 and Grandma Heys.  I'll be staying the week to see the Coe game the following week.   :)

But a lot of football between then and now...Go Rams!

Hopefully we can bottle up Luther's QB and shake off the doldrums on offense against a good Luther D.

We booked tickets to come out and see a game with son #4 on the 24th.  Both the Mrs and I will be there.  She hasn't yet seen him coach or the team play and wanted to before he was done.  Also the weather here is turning cold and gloomy so hoping that the sunny Socal weather will be a nice change.

AZD:  Don't worry about curbing your enthusiasm.  Being excited about your team is half the fun.  You just need to be prepared for the slings and arrows that get launched your way if and when the Dutch lose one.

doolittledog:  I need to review my past postings.  I guess I've thought the Wartburg contingent on here was fairly conservative about making predictions and looking too far forward.  I thought we were more in your face after the fact or fairly talented in finding statistics that favored our beloved Knights.

If only the slings and arrows were the only things he'd have to dodge.  The sharp wit may hurt worse.   ;D ;D ;D

Ashford, Clarke, and Mt. Mercy do not have football programs, so it's an even steven 10 vs. 10 in the football department.

I have a relative at Ashford that is convinced all the kids that currently go to IIAC schools will now flock to Ashford because they are implementing a program where if you have a 3.1 GPA you will get free tuition to Ashford.  He was telling me this last weekend but then other family members showed up and the conversation changed before I could ask him anything more about it.

I have my doubts that kids will suddenly start flocking to Ashford...and Clinton ;D  any time soon though!!!

Fun fact of the day:

You thought Cornell was struggling to win a conference game?  How about North Park University?  Their current conference losing streak comes in at 36 games.  That's a five year conference losing streak, about 2 years and change longer than Cornell.  I trust we win a conference game before then.  Maybe this weekend even?
Terrell Owens was asked for one word to describe himself. He said "confident." When asked for another word he said "very."

It seems the whole goal of Ashford is to be like the University of Phoenix.  My brother worked their a few years ago and he said is was more or less a joke.  If you had a pulse, you could get in.

I would put Clinton #1 on my list of places I would NEVER go to college...
