WCF Courier article on Wartburg WR  Matt Gustafson

http://wcfcourier.com/sports/article_a4f29a24-b492-11de-a0d4-001cc4c03286.html

"Both receiver positions are fun and I'm ready to do whatever they ask," said the Faribault, Minn. native. Connections handed the Knights the fleet-footed Gustafson to Wartburg despite the fact several Division III football programs are just a stone's throw away from his hometown.

Gustafson's high school coach, Ned Louis, is the brother of Jim Louis, who was defensive assistant for Wartburg in 2005 and 2006.

Jim Louis departed for St. Cloud State following the 2006 season, but Gustafson, then a high school senior, had already visited Waverly and had decided Wartburg was a perfect fit.

I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

It was still 2-0 Mizzou when I tossed the remote to my wife and rolled over and went to sleep.  I guess I missed all the excitement in the game.

Hopefully the UD/Loras game gives us a better show Saturday night.

Doolittledog,
That sounds like a really bad night. Lets see if I can help you out by moving things around a little bit!

One of the issues that came up on the high school board that I go on is
how bad the calls are getting with the referees.
So in my search for looking for the worst calls by a referee,
I didn't find the worst but the funniest.......

Referees penalty call was, "Giving him the business".

Looks like we'll need to dress warm Saturday night!!!

Saturday: A chance of rain and snow after 1pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 43. Southeast wind 5 to 15 mph becoming northwest. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 20.

It is Friday.  Time to bring out the big guns, including this rare triple punch line joke.  Warning, the following is not for those with under-developed powers of discernment:
A Simpson grad and a pig walk into a bar.  A moment later, a Central grad comes in through the back door.  They all have a round or couple until the Central grad says to the pig, "you know in Pella they would put you into their bologna."  The pig replys, (Punch Line 1)"in Indianola, it's vice versa."  And the Simpson grad says, (punch line 2)"just my luck.  Of all the pigs in the world, I fall in love with the one that can talk."  The bar tender adds, (punch line 3) "what are you whining about.  That is the best looking date you ever brought in here."

Not a chance, we've been married too long.  If I were to have asked my wife last night if she were "in the mood"  She would have probably replied "with you???"

I shouldn't complain, she will be with me this weekend for a very cold night game in Dubuque, plus about 12 hours pregame with my rowdy friends...she's a good sport!!!

That's alright Doolittledog. I know where your coming from. So I tweaked it just a little more.

It was still 2-0 Mizzou when my wife went to sleep. I tossed the remote and rolled her over and I had all the excitement! Who cares if I missed the game.

Where's WillieU been recently???

It's homecoming week!!!

Willie U has been running around crazier then deer during shotgun season!

Summarize the past 2 weeks:
1.) Very disappointed at the loss to Coe. Enough said.
2.) Very excited for the homecoming game VS Loras. Without the weather. Hoping it doesn't get too cold for the wife and son or they may have to leave early. But, I will stay to the end regardless.

GO SPARTANS!!

I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

I'm sharing the grief with my Iowa brethren as we too will be experiencing colder than expected temperatures...we're bundling up for tonight's high school games as the mercury is expected to drop below 60 into the 50's.  B-b-b-b-brrrrrrrr.

Earlier this week we set a lowest ever daily "high" of 68!   :o
