Well I saw the Knights lose, but it was the St. Norbert variety.   The Monmouth Fighting Scots are for real, but maybe after reviewing the results from Waverly it can be said the Green Knights victory over the Orange Knights wasn't all that impressive.

Go Dutch

Well said.  They played pretty well again today.  For the second game in a row everyone played.  That helps with getting younger players ready for the next step.  Many of the reserves played much of the second half for the Dutch.  Good victory at Buxton today.

Wartburg looked out of synch from the get go. The Defense that has bailed us out time and time again hasn't been able to do that consistently this year, and today the offensive guys were not on the same page with each other.
Credit BV with doing some very unique things defensively that I thought was a great gameplan against the Knights.

What happened up in Waverly today?  From the updates we heard at Simpson Wartburg was never ever really in the game.  Is that a fair statement?

As for Simpson I was really shocked that Unkrich being a 5th year guy was not better than he was.  He does a nice job on the option and scrambled for yards when he needed them or was flushed from the pocket but his passing accuracy was horrible to say the least.  3 picks and only 1 TD pass does not get the job done in the IIAC.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Wartburg did not play well today and I blame it on OUTFLY!!! It seems the Knights lose games at homethat they shoud NOT, following Ausflug. ;) ;) ;) that and BV played very well.

One thing I have to ask is has any one ever seen a -7 yard kickoff other than jr high or high school?  Simpson had two onside kicks one that went about 5-6 yards and the second one was -7 yards.

Have to say that was a huge surprise with Loras pounding UD.  Is this same ole same ole with the Spartans?  Two bad games in a row.  They played the Dutch very well but then have not really played well since.

Whats a paratrooper to do? Dutch are 6-0, Hawks are 6-0, Texas is 6-0. I could get used to this. Of course, the Chiefs are 0-4 so I've at least got some balance. I especially love it when we can hang 50+ on a team. I love it even more when its against Simpson. Saw the 24 points and was a little concerned, however. Its that because some of those points came in reserve time or was Simpson's spread O just that tough to stop? Congrats to all the other victors. WB sorry to hear about your loss. I was looking forward to playing you guys with a possibly unblemished record, although its still gonna be a helluva game.

Good to see you are ok.  The Dutch played very well today. The reserves played most of the second half.  At least from the halfway through the third quarter.  The Dutch reserves gave up 14 to the Storm's first team.  So don't worry about the Dutch D giving up so many points.  Kept our first teamers healthy with the subs in and the subs gained valuable playing time.

It's starting to look like it.  The first half the UD defense was actually looking pretty decent.  The UD offense looked like they were just going through the motions and could care less about the game.  By midway through the 3rd it looked like the UD defense said to themselves "if our offense isn't going to try then neither will we"

Loras didn't look fantastic.  It just looked like UD was pretty bad.  Not the team I saw play Cornell 2 weeks ago at all.

I  beg to differ...they came out and played OK against us...maybe it was us.  Had we not fumbled on the 1, maybe UD would have buckled against us too.

From that account it does sound like the same ole UD.  Not a good sign for the last 4 games.

On the bright side, my wife and I got big smiles on our faces to see the parking lot at the Dog House filled at 8:55am this morning...you gotta love Dubuque ;D ;D ;D

We were able to make it to the quad for the rededication for a memorial plaque for a fraternity brother that died of cancer while still a student at UD.  His brother gave a very moving speach that had a lot of tears in our eyes.  We then had a nice luncheon at the River Plaza or whatever that new place is on the river downtown...very nice.  Took a tour of campus...I still cannot believe the difference in our campus over the last 17 years since I was in school.  Good brew and grub at the Bricktown Brewery.  The game???  Well, at least the Hawkeyes got a win today.  Back to the drawing board for the Spartans...that was a game to forget!!!

I just felt a lack of intensity especially for a homecoming game AND loras game. Maybe it was the cold, maybe it was the lingering effects of the coe smashing last week, maybe it was the penalties (some of which were BS in my opinion that were momentum changers), maybe the poor special teams play and turnovers. Not sure. But, there is a lack of veteran leadership on the team right now. Half the starters are freshman. I know this is a broken record but "if those guys stick it out for 4 years", they could be something special. Bright side of the game was I liked the more aggressive defensive play and the youngsters looked good at the end. Wyatt Hanus looked great at QB and so did the back up RB. I know they were going against loras's 2nd teamers also but they moved the ball well and scored twice in a short amount of time.

Only need one more win for the season to be an improvement! I think now that everyone knows the conference championship and playoffs are out of the question, we can play football and have some fun.
