OBSERVATIONS - THROUGH WEEK 6
1. Central has outscored Cornell & Loras combined
2. BV & Loras have started slow
3. BV's defense stiffens after halftime
4. Cornell needs more scoring in 2nd Q

I think we've fumbled at the 1 yard line 3 times in the 2nd Quarter... :(

One other note...in 54 years Linfield has only had a 5-4 record 3 times...the other 51 years the 'Cats have had a record of 6-3 or better.  Not too bad.

That's pretty good alright.  But I still have one question.

When are you going to put a roof on that "dome?"    ;)  :D

Not sure what you're talking about...it's been there for years!

Centrals is slightly deceiving as well, gave up the most and scored the least in the 4th quarter, traditionally their strong quarter. This year however their subs have been in the majority of games.

BV isn't that good, Wartburg played that bad.

i just said theyre better than i had been giving them credit for...

but looking ahead for them, i expect them to beat cornell and luther the next two weeks.  then they hit a rough stretch of central, coe, and ud.  they wont beat central.  coe has to travel to bv and teams in the iiac seem to have problems with "overnighters" as i remember one poster pointing out. and ud may have very well thrown in the towel, at this point im not sure anyone knows what to expect from them a given week.  they travel to bv as well.  point being they have the potential, to end up 6-2 in the conference.  and i would guess at worst 5-3. it's all speculation at this point so we'll just wait and see.
Terrell Owens was asked for one word to describe himself. He said "confident." When asked for another word he said "very."

Well with Central don't bet on it.  As I showed Central's home record is worse than their away record.   ;D ;D ;D

Never say they wont beat anyone, but if we play the way we have the last few weeks I dont see us losing at all in the regular season. Thats a big if though.

Happy birthday, Warthog! What type of stings did you have to pull to have Wartburg's Homecoming scheduled for your birthday weekend?

Thanks DF1.

I'm not sure why they chose to have homecoming on my birthday weekend.  It obviously isn't because they plan on my big check to payoff the "W".  Perhaps the powers that be knew better than to schedule the festivities when the BV Beavers were coming to town.

In spite of the weather it should be a nice weekend.  It is always enjoyable for me to be around the boys and their families.  After the ballgame and Oktoberfest, Mrs. Warthog and I will be entertaining the youngest generation with Dora DVDs and popcorn while the middle generation renews old friendships at watering holes around town.

Happy birthday Warthog. Sounds like you have it all lined up right. Hope the weather and Knights cooperate for you. Here's to a good tottie that goes with popcorn.

That is much easier on the older generartion too.  I does take time to recover from the younger generation being around but much less time than from visiting the watering holes. ;D ;D ;D

As I looked back on the Wartburg game, at first I was surprised at the outcome.  Then the more I looked, I started to think BV is a lot better than at least I gave them credit for.  They are two plays and seven points away from being 5-0.  They gave up a late touchdown to UW-P and the last second fg to Simpson.  Now, I know it's all a bunch of "what ifs" and in reality they are 3-2, but the beavers are scary close to being undefeated and having knocked off the reigning conference champs.  Something to think about.
I think with the exception of the Luther game, Central fans thought the same thing last year, but we still ended at 6-4.

Happy Birthday Warthog! We'll be tailgating in M lot after the game, weather permitting. Stop in if you like.
