I am almost convinced to stop worrying about the Central secondary.  Now I am going to start worrying about the flu.  The guy on Saturday's radio call of the BV game reported that Zachary puked during the game.  Normally I would call that too much information.  Execept these are dangerous times.  What if whatever was ailing him spread?  Those second stringers opponents have been putting up statistics against, are just one little virus away from being starters.  Is it Saturday yet?

I talked with DZ after the game.  I did not see him upchuck and did not ask him about that.  He seemed normal and very happy.  He is focused on this coming Saturday already after the game.  That is one thing about Coach Mac, say the hurahs after the game get the celebrating done and then on to the next game.

the only stat that counts the "W".
I think the past several years have shown us just how true that is.

Man, this is the first Central/Wartburg game I'm going to miss in 13 seasons. I have tickets to Iowa/Northwestern in Iowa City.

Anyone want to volunteer to send me score updates?  ;)

Would somebody be willing to create a poll at top of the page for Central - Wartburg ala MIAC Bethel -UST? The game is always of great interest throughout the division.

I kind of miss Klop, too....

Senior Day at Cornell.  Coming to Iowa to watch the last 2 games in Jr.'s college career.  Where did the time go? :o

Senora Heys is all worried about the weather..we had to go buy her a cold weather coat.  Rev. 3 is coming too.  Looking forward to a fun time in Iowa regardless of the games' outcomes.

Now, how often to Califorians say that? :)

The weather should be beautiful - 60 degree temps, even! It's going to be balmy!

PH - You are right,  our son is also a Senior and it seems like yesterday we moved him in his freshman year.  He has only one game left and after that we'll be in total withdrawl.  A WARM welcome on your return to Iowa  OK - warm is a relative term.  ;D

5 Words or Less

I got to the Luther - Wartburg game early last Saturday.  I had the munchies, so I cruised the parking lots looking for Warthog's orange and black oreos license plates.  It's probably best that I didn't find him because my stomach wasn't very settled after the 99-yard pick six.

After the game, there was an orange and black limosuine fitted with a train whistle that took a vicory lap around Carlson stadium ... was that the Wartmobile?

A while ago, someone here posted some links about football expenses and revenues.  Does anybody have that info now?  I thought it had links for D3 all the way up to D1.  Some friends have been asking me about UNI and their football team losing money and I thought that link might help.

Mrs doolittle is thinking of trying something different for tailgating food this week and is considering making chocolate dipped bacon.  Has anyone tried this?  It sounds like it could either be really good or really bad.

Or...My favorite Central:
4) Damn, my kid should have gone there.   :D

Just kidding, I know he is happy at Wartburg and given what you are probably paying, that is as it should be.

I happen to have 2 kids at Wartburg.
So you screwed up twice, huh?   ;) ;) ;)

What can I say? They know class when they see it.
Good response.  You're okay footballdaddy.

Oh, and prepare to see some class on Saturday.   ;)

I know the Dutch will be as gracious in defeat as they are in victory.
