Nieman was shown the door and the team that went 7-3 last year was his kids . The kids that he brought in then graduated and this year 3-7 or 4-6

I disagree, unless you're playing all FR and SO.  Other than transfers, all of the juniors and seniors are Niemann's guys.  You can say the same thing about Niemann's first two years, they were all Williams' recruits.  In fact, if you look back on it, most of the impact players from the '03 playoff year were Williams' guys.  Niemann never had a winning record with all of his own guys.  I would be surprised if you will be able to say the same thing about coach Glo four years from now.

Good luck to all of the teams finishing up this weekend, particularly the seniors!  There will be a number of great players ending their careers this coming weekend.  How about stumping for your players, outside of POY.

I am going to first congratulate our Fab Five:  Bladt, King, Macey, Siar, and Zasada.  Thanks for true leadership.

Which senior is most valuable to the team?  Which senior is most underrated/unrecognized for his accomplishment?

All have been valuable for precisely their leadership.  This team is tighter than previous years...it will be better for it after they leave because the kids coming up have been positively influenced by them.

Siar and Zasada are interior lineman on a 3-4.  They get almost no pub...because that's the way it is for lineman...but they take on multiple blockers and do the dirty work...they are the most unsung of the group.

Which underclassmen is going to come out of nowhere to lead the team next year?  Which one does everyone expect to be a key leader next year?

Burdick will need to become a leader, but I expect Owen and Rachal to emerge as offensive leaders of the O-Line...they will be seniors.  If they can continue the work ethic established by our current seniors, this group will be among the league's best next year...they have the size, they need to come together.  I think CJ will have a big year next year too.  Tierney is quiet but will be a go to receiver for Burdick.  Look out for McNally too, as an all purpose guy.  Our next great California TE will be Lopez (you heard it here first).

Defensively: Spickerman, Krol, Freeman and Barlow are primed to lead.  Tabor and Bailey are hustlers that, if they put the work in, will develop nicely.  Our freshman CB's, Meloy and Kelly now have a year of experience and again, if they put in the work, will make this a position of strength over the next couple of years.  I must admit, I have focused more on the offense...

Coaches:  Dillon is a battler...the record doesn't show it yet per se, but the program is healthier, the players are better, and things are on the upswing.  Coach Dicus brings an attacking attitude to the offense...Burdick is a record setter in his first year.   Coach Rife has a big, strong O-Line that all comes back.  On defense, Coach Ike, Coach Wumkes and the defensive staff are developing an enthusiastic, fly-to-the-football mentality.  These Rams hit as hard as any team in the conference.

With only 5 seniors, the Rams return a wealth of experience.  Coach Dicus has a full year to venture back to Florida to mine more talent.  The achievement of the Iowa seniors my draw more local interest.  I think we already locked in 1 new CA recruit and we're digging for more.  Jr.'s success out here resonates back home.

I am as excited as ever to be a Ram fan.   :)
You can't leave me....all the plants will die.

I just want to give a public shout of for the trio of linebackers that Coe will be graduating this season.  They are the best collection of linebackers that I have seen in this conference.  Tate Harrison, Calvin Thomas and Ross Yeast have been completely dominant and they deserve the accolades that they might receive at the end of the season.  Those guys will be truly missed and I know 8 coaches that are happy as hell that they are gone after this season!

I couldn't agree more!  With them graduating next year, I see Coe moving Weymiller back to LB which will help...but big holes to fill next year there.

If it is alright with everyone on here, now that Central's regular season is over, I have been looking at the hypothetical playoff match-ups people have posted around.  No arrogance intended you understand.  The information is probably around d3.com somewhere but I'm too lazy to look.  I wonder, as close as Central and St John's are in the regional rankings, isn't there some way for Central to jump them?  If Central's non-conference opponents win this week, and St John's lose, does Central move up?  Maybe to a #1 if they move Whitewater?  And better yet, as long as I am fantasizing, I am rooting for Carleton, UW LaCrosse and Pacific Lutheran to beat St John's, Whitewater and Linfield on Saturday.  I'm so not arrogant, I expect Central to need home field and any other advantages they can get when the play-offs start.  Plus, I think it would be nice for the Whitewater or Linfield folks to have a chance to make the trip to Pella.

It could happen, it all depends on what happens this weekend and the committee.

I think at worst we are a 2 seed, which would mean hosting Linfield so thats a start, and SJU would have to get through their side of the bracket to host us in the regional finals. If they stumble we woudl host assuming we get that far. Its in our best interest to cheer for SJU Linfield and WW to keep WW in the North and lighten up the West just a touch!

As for the crowd-
As much as Dutch fans want to think we show up because we're playing you, we actually show up when we both are good, otherwise its just another football game.

That is an awful shame.... True fans support their teams no matter the record. Fair weather fans "jump on band wagons" when the going gets good  ;D

Go Spartans!

I don't disagree, but the amount of "true" fans at each school is very small
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

The IIAC figured they couldn't give it to Zweifel EVERY week.  So they spread the Athlete of the Week award around to some other schools...I kid, I kid  ;D ;D ;D

The leaders of each of their respective divisions in terms of receiving yds/gm.  Not too shabby.  I'm just sayin'......haha.
Terrell Owens was asked for one word to describe himself. He said "confident." When asked for another word he said "very."

Bowling Green is 4-5
Elon is 8-1
Concord is 6-5
Dubuque is 4-5

Looks to me to be teams have one threat and they use them alot.  Not alot of wins with those schools, minus Elon.

Justin Spaulding has the 2nd most rushing yards in the conference.  Demacus Fleming has the 4th most receiving yards in the conference.  They complement pretty well Zweifel and his most receptions and most receiving yards in conference and Colton Hansen and his most passing yards in conference.

Dubuque isn't exactly a one trick pony.

And with Dubuque's history...a 4-5 record IS a lot of wins  ;D ;D ;D
