To all the Seniors playing their last game today:

You would expect me to give a long winded speech to all of you sending you out in your life after football. After thinking about it, nothing I could ever say woukl be better than this:

Thank You
NKD: "We need a f**king touchdown, excuse my French"
FBD: "I didn't know touchdown was French."

Congrats to all the seniors playing their last games today.  footballdaddy said it best...thank you.

Good luck to the Spartans today.  A win against the Beavers and you will finish your Dubuque careers with a .500 record.  Win or lose, you have been fun to follow the last 4 years.  Good luck in your future lives.  I am sure football has helped in preparing you for the challenges that lay ahead of you and the friendships you have made at college will be beneficial to your future success.

Hats off to the seniors that will be playing their last game.  Good luck Jr hoping you can finish strong.  I got a little busy this weekend with work and getting ready for a trip to Philly to go with son #2 for his clinical boards this next week.  Sorry I can not be in CR to watch the Rams and Kohawks battle it out.  Not rooting for the Rams but for JR.  Kohawks good luck and battle it out, it would be fun to have 2 IIAC teams in the playoffs.  To all the other seniors it was said before thanks for your efforts for your team it has been fun watching you play.

Good luck to Coe! We need two IIAC teams to go deep into the playoffs...lets plan on meeting in the Quarters! :)

Congratulations to all the seniors. Thanks for all you have done for the IIAC.

Walston Hoover, What a great season. I know from personal experience your coaches and players are crushed but one of the saddest things in sports is that most of those who work so hard and passionatley will have their season end in disappointment. Coach Wilson is a great coach and you will be back.

Purple Heys, good luck to your son. I have enjoyed your posts over the years.

Dubuque Telegraph-Herald with a pretty good preview of the Loras/Luther and UD/BV games.

The decade is now over.  I could have added wrong.  But, conference records for the decade stand thus.

1. Central 69-15  : 7 titles
2. Wartburg 69-15  : 4 titles
3. Coe 57-27  :  3 titles
4. Buena Vista 43-41
5. Simpson  43-41
6. Luther  37-47
7. Loras  34-50
8. Dubuque 18-66
9. Cornell  17-67

With conference seniors just wrapping up their careers.  Conference records over the past 4 seasons.

1. Central 28-4  : 3 titles
2. Wartburg 25-7  : 1 title
3. Coe 21-11
4. BVU 16-16
5. DBQ 15-17
6. Luther 13-19
7. Simpson 13-19
8. Loras 12-20
9. Cornell 1-31

I think you can say Dubuque is a middle of road IIAC team now.  That has been a long time since you could say that!!!

I had some fun meeting Coocooforcokohack...Everyone I've had the opportunity to meet in person has been a great experience and it was fun to have that friendship originate from this forum on the sport we all love.

Even though I didn't like the outcome, I'll congratulate the Kohacks and I wish them well and root for them to get into the playoffs and represent us well.  There's a lot of good about that team.

I am proud of my Rams and my son and the Fab Five...this week becomes only a footnote.  Their efforts to bring this program back on its way to respectability is a task I wonder how many other kids would take on...but that's a different discussion.

Things got a bit chippy at the end...the 'hacks caught some breaks and a call here and there that helps bubble frustration out...and both side certainly were guilty of the chippiness.  That means to me there still IS a small ember in this rivalry.

The ball bounced the 'hacks way all day on a day where the Rams could have used the help.  But the fact is that the Kohacks have a better overall team and the better team won the way it should have won to stake it's claim for playoff worthiness.

All that said...I am proud to have watched my son battle to the last second.  He is a worthy IIAC player and that makes me happy.   :)
You can't leave me....all the plants will die.

Safe to say Central is the Team of the Decade...although its something people are used to :)

The Dubuque senior class leaves school with a 20-20 overall record.  The last senior class at Dubuque to leave with a non-losing record is the 1983 class.  Which I believe that was spurriers senior year ;)

So I walk up the steps at K. Ray just as Boyle throws his streak ending interception and I hear a fan from the Cornell section blurt out, "streaks over congratulations, too bad move on".
I say to myself what Cornell fan could be aware of that stat. I turn and there I see a God awful pair of ram horns sticking out of a middle aged man's head....

...Purple Heys I presume.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

+K - too funny!

Congratulations again Rams, apparently you accomplished something no other team has been able to do this year.

CaliRamRL6

The Coe-Cornell game got ugly. It was funny to see OC Staker and Boyle smiling and laughing after he threw his first INT of the season. It was a dumb pass but he got over it in a matter of seconds. Cornell couldn't get a break and Coe got more than a couple of breaks.

The highlights...
Watching Macey do his thing when the ball came his way.
Weymiller is a freakin beast.
Rozum had an outstanding performance today. The stiffarm he had on the lucky fumble recovery TD was money.
Hainey getting in the endzone after being a reserve RB for his years at Coe. I felt like it was one of my kids scoring.
