That's pretty much the entire reason sportsknight moved to Dubuque in the first place ;D ;D ;D

I suppose now, my wife might be more inclined to let our kids matriculate to UD ;)

I have a feeling that neither one of us has seen quite what the other team has to bring to the table.  Should be a great game on Saturday.  So will the offenses or defenses dominate?  I could go with Central's offense and Central's defense.   ;)
I think it will probably look like the defenses on the scoreboard because I don't think there will be that many possessions for each team if both offenses do there thing and grind out possessions.

What is the wind like at the stadium?
I think it will be a defensive battle as well and I will project Central 24-UMHB 20 in OT.  I would guess winds gusting at 25 - 30.
Cross winds? or the direction of the field?

Usually cross winds.
I wish I got to enough games to know what is usual.  The last time I was there in November (2007 for the St John's game) the kick offs to the north were all touch backs and the kick offs to the south were getting fielded at about the forty.  Whatever happens, unless some how someone gets a trip to Cal Lutheran, it is likely to be the nicest weather anyone from this bracket sees for the rest of the season.  McMinville is too soggy.  Collegeville is too frosty.  Whitewater is too snowy.  Salem always looks dreary on TV.  Pella is just right.

I don't see how Coe, Cornell, and Luther leaving the IIAC to join that new conference would make any sense.  Other than the academic side of the schools could pat themselves on the back about their association.  Those would be some pretty long bus rides for the athletes.  Expenses would be higher.  So for those schools that don't like the athletic department getting hard to come by funds, they would now see those athletic departments getting a larger cut of the pie.

I could understand Cornell perhaps might want to take a look around to find a more competitive league with perhaps a more similar like minded schools.  But if Cornell really took a look at things, they are competitive in most sports apart from football.  I think Coe has actually become stronger athletically since they joined the IIAC.  I would think it would be a step down for Coe to leave.

The whole thing doesn't make sense for me for any of those schools.  I certainly wouldn't want to trade Coe and Cornell for Iowa Wesleyan and another mystery school.

It doesn't make much sense to me either. But they need to have something on the agenda or there wouldn't be a reason to get together and solve problems.

First order of business: Create a problem to solve.

Didn't someone on here bring this topic up a month or two or more ago?  At the time I laughed it off.  Now, I suspect they had an idea of what was going on!!!

I think your right, and it may have come out of the Norse camp. There will no doubt be more conference realignments coming, but for my part, I'd love to see the IIAC, MIAC stay the same.

Here's to safe travels for the cru to the midwest. I think UMHB will surprise you with how physical their style of play is. It is what the program has been built on, in the early days they didnt have the speed, ha ha. Good luck this weekend and throughout the playoffs.

Well, Dutch, that's it.  They are more physical and speedier.  Might as well not even get dressed for the game.  Pack it in, UMHB is coming to town.

Good luck to the Kohawks, Dutch and Little Dutch tomorrow, hope all three of you get the wins that most are not predicting.

"Just spoke with West Region Authority OneArmedScot who went ON THE RECORD agreeing with TDT that the Toms are bound for a Round 2 win.  Ho hum, just another feather in the cap.  OAS did mention (I'm sure much to the chagrin of the Linfield Lunatics) that his pick for the West Region Champ is Central."

Hey, sometimes there is something good posted on the MIAC pages.   ;D

Chandler becoming Athletic Director is the reason Coe became stronger athletically.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

D O.C.

Bars somewhere other than Las Vegas have been open until 3:30AM?!!

What's the gimmick, last call at midnight?

When he disappeared it may be that's where OAS has been lurking.  :)
