I really don't need a "white all the way up to Christmas" and I'm dreaming of the Caribbean.

I've already cleared my sidewalk twice since 2pm.  Living out in the country isn't always so nice when you get all this drifting snow.  I'm not even thinking about going into work tomorrow.  Our kids think it's pretty cool though ;)

This could have been interesting to have an IIAC team hosting a playoff game this weekend.  Reminds me of Central/Bethel from a few years back.

Let us hope that the roads stay open tonight.  I have to drive from Cedar Rapids to Manchester and back starting at about midnight tonight.  Usually takes me two hours to drive round trip. We'll see how long it takes tonight.

If you live in Northeast Iowa and don't get your Gazette tomorrow you'll know I am in a ditch somewhere.

Seems like mother nature wanted me to feel like I'm at home. It snowed yesterday here in Afghanistan. Didn't stick at the lower elevations where I'm at, but I caught of the glimpse of the mountains this morning and they are definitely white.

I have definately driven in worse conditions, but I don't recommend going out in this stuff.  Took me four and a half hours instead of the usual two to go to Manchester then back to Cedar Rapids.

It wasn't bad in my four wheel drive Jeep Wrangler, but the rear wheel drive van I drove to Manchester got stuck twice.  One time I was just getting gas and couldn't pull out of the station.

Lucky bastard.  I've been up since 4:00, shooting since about 5:00.  Not sure how long I'll be at it today, but suffice it to say I'm hooking up an IV of Coke Zero and Diet Dew.

This storm is definitely living up to the hype.

Some of my favorite memories of Dubuque was delivering pizza in blizzard conditions.  Every one would get sent home but 3 of us that had 4wd vehicles and you could have a lot of fun getting up and down all the hills of Dubuque in the bad weather.  Now that I am older...not so much...but in my early 20's we had a good time.

Nick is a freshman on a football scholarship at Division II Northern Michigan University.

Nick has no # assigned on the roster list.  He had no statistics for the season.  My guess is he may show up in a Rams jersey next year.

You appear to be correct.

Brautigam said his son, Nick Brautigam, a former Wahlert star on scholarship at NCAA Division II Northern Michigan, could follow him to Cornell.

And from the last paragraph of the article...

"They've got a good nucleus coming back. They've been very competitive," Brautigam said. "My job is to lead the team and the coaches and turn those close games into wins."

Here I go, out into the cold cold night.  Last night it wasn't that cold, tonight I am a little more worried. Hope to make it home by six.

Only at Central, does this qualify for Jay Leno's headlines?  I deleted all but the last announcement...
