Only at Central, does this qualify for Jay Leno's headlines?  I deleted all but the last announcement...

"Subject: The Crier blizzard edition- Dec. 9, 2009

As promised, a special Crier update listing what is "on" and what is cancelled for tonight.  The Crier regular edition will continue tomorrow morning.

4 IIAC football championships
8 NCAA football playoff appearances
13 straight wins over Cornell in the oldest football rivalry west of the Mississippi

Congrats to Coach B on the Cornell job. I wish him the best of luck. I appreciate the positives he did for my alma mater and wish him the best at Cornell.

However, if Cornell stays in the IIAC and plays UD in the future, I hope we continue to dominate the Rams for his tenure there  ;) Although, I do realize this adds a little spice to our future match ups  ;D

Congrats to Tate Harrison and Frank Weymiller for getting second team All-West Region.

Shocked that the IIAC MVP didn't even make any of the All-Region teams...

Heys, give our best to .Jr. He deserves the recognition he is getting. Fell free to brag to us all you want, you've earned it too!

Kudos to all the other IIAC players who earned their recognition too. Next year we will dominate the teams!

Thanks...it is much appreciated.  Jr. was excited...when I called him he said, "thanks Dad, can I call you back, I'm lifting."    :)   Gotta love that work ethic.   ;)   Seriously, though, he was excited.

They did an article about him in our local paper this past Tuesday...I'll link it when they post it.

BTW - Rev. 3 got pulled up to Varsity and they've made their way to the CIF-SDS Division 1 Championship game Friday night at Qualcomm Stadium.

Great night of football ahead!!  :) :) :)   www.vistahighfootball.com

Hey Heys, do some scouting on Chance Early, son of former Hawkeye WR Quinn Early.  His Cathedral Catholic Dons are playing at Qualcomm on Friday.  Quinn is hoping his son can get some attention from the Hawkeyes.  If not, maybe he could be a big time receiver in the IIAC!!!

Here is a clip his dad provided on a Hawkeye site.  He is up for play of the week against Vista product Stefan McClure.  http://www.kusi.com/ppr/playoftheweek/78824757.html

You bring back some good memories with that Prep Pigskin Report. I think that McClure kid is the nephew of my godparents.

An extra word about Stefan McClure.  He is a junior CB who spent last Friday night on an island with Kenny Stills.  Stills, after this year, became San Diego's all-time leading receiver and he is being recruited by Florida, USC, Michigan, Oklahoma and every other big-time D1 program.

All McClure did was hold Stills to 4 catches for 68 yards and no scores and generally made Stills' last high school game miserable.  He just blanketed that kid all game.  No help over the top, no bracket.  1 on 1.  Stunning is what it was.  Vista won 47-7 over a team that came in with a 20-game win streak, including thumping us last year in the playoffs.

Look for Stefan to follow Leon Hall (Cincinnati Bengals' starting CB) as Vista's next great defensive back.  Stefan is a very polished athlete.  Next year look for him to be the trigger guy when we go to the Wildcat, equally dangerous to throw as he is to run, as well as being our number 1 receiver.  His Dad's name is Al, Cali, if that helps.  Al was one of Senorita Heys' high jump coaches when she was at Vista.

BTW, the kid on the other end of McClure's pass is Troy Ware...no slouch himself, he's headed on full ride to Boise State next year and is the son of former L.A. Raider and current Vista Receivers Coach, Tim Ware.  Coach Ware is Rev. 3's position coach at VHS.

Is this Kenny Stills related to the Kenny Stills who was a DB at Wisconsin and played for the Packers and I think the Vikings? Maybe we'll see him in the Big Ten.

Heys, Stefan is the one I was thinking of. I called my godfather and it sounds like the big game is tonight at Qualcomm. It looks like little Kenny grew up into quite the athlete. His dad played in the NFL and used to bring him around my apartments when I was a kid. His dad helped out with coaching when I was at El Camino.
