Anybody out there have any news on 2010 football schedules?

We know who Coe is playing in their non-con games.  Central has released their schedule.  Dubuque should open with Rockford, @ UW-Platteville, @ Central.

If anybody else has any info please share.  The earlier I can bug my wife about scheduling roadtrips the better ;D

A vote for Coach Staker is a vote for the IIAC. Let's all support a most deserving candidate for D3 Coach of the Year. Visit coachoftheyear.com Dec. 15-29 to vote among the finalists. Fan votes constitute 20 percent of a coach's final score.

Here is Pat's assessment of the D3 Coach of the Year finalists, who include:
Steve Briggs - Susquehanna University
Greg Debeljak - Case Western Reserve University
John Gagliardi - Saint John's
Steve Staker - Coe College
John Troxell - Frankin & Marshall College

"That's a ridiculous list of finalists. I get to cast a regular ballot for this award and I'm thinking of returning it blank."

Hey Heys, do some scouting on Chance Early, son of former Hawkeye WR Quinn Early.  His Cathedral Catholic Dons are playing at Qualcomm on Friday.  Quinn is hoping his son can get some attention from the Hawkeyes.  If not, maybe he could be a big time receiver in the IIAC!!!

Here is a clip his dad provided on a Hawkeye site.  He is up for play of the week against Vista product Stefan McClure.  http://www.kusi.com/ppr/playoftheweek/78824757.html
You bring back some good memories with that Prep Pigskin Report. I think that McClure kid is the nephew of my godparents.

An extra word about Stefan McClure.  He is a junior CB who spent last Friday night on an island with Kenny Stills.  Stills, after this year, became San Diego's all-time leading receiver and he is being recruited by Florida, USC, Michigan, Oklahoma and every other big-time D1 program.

Is this Kenny Stills related to the Kenny Stills who was a DB at Wisconsin and played for the Packers and I think the Vikings? Maybe we'll see him in the Big Ten.

I would be talking about Kenny Stills, Jr.  He is the son of the very same Kenny Stills of UW and the Packers and Vikes.  Kenny Junior played his Little League Baseball at Oceanside Valley (for the Rockies) against Rev. 3.  Kenny Junior was 12 then and Rev. 3 was 10.    :)

Heys, give our best to .Jr. He deserves the recognition he is getting. Fell free to brag to us all you want, you've earned it too!

Kudos to all the other IIAC players who earned their recognition too. Next year we will dominate the teams!

Thanks...it is much appreciated.  Jr. was excited...when I called him he said, "thanks Dad, can I call you back, I'm lifting."    :)   Gotta love that work ethic.   ;)   Seriously, though, he was excited.

They did an article about him in our local paper this past Tuesday...I'll link it when they post it.

Jr. thought it was better to tell dad he was lifting weights instead of talking to a couple cheerleaders about going out later that night ;)

Hey DDog, don't be so sure .JR wasn't really lifting. It was only 12.oz at a time!

Just kidding Heys! But heck, I was 21 once!

Those are great quotes, humorous and true at the same time. I do belive that #13 is actually attributed to Vince Lombardi, but I could be wrong.

As a Michigander, I know that at least around here it is always attributed to Duffy.  There are many famous quotations attributed to multiple people; tracking down who said it first can be tricky.  (I suspect many who have won out actually heard it from their neighbor or barber! :D)

The sources I was using for my quotes of the day, that were being printed during the season, credit many of the  sayings to people other than the coaches DBQ1965 credits.  I think Mr. Ypsi may be correct in his analysis.

Great news about the D3 championship game (Stagg Bowl) is that I can now get my Christmas shopping completed next Saturday, because I don't give a rat's ass who wins.  :-\

I wouldn't care who won the Super Bowl or the BCS Championship most years if I didn't bet on them.  Come to think of it, I still don't care who wins just whether or not they cover.

I actually try to watch the D3 championship game most years.  That way I feel like I did my part if the D3 game gets a higher rating than the D2 and D1-AA championship games.

Of course I watched the 3rd quarter of this years D2 championship game.  And if I happen to be home and find the D1-AA championship game while flipping channels I will probably watch that as well.  I like college football, doesn't matter the level.  That is probably why I drag my wife around the state of Iowa in the fall following D3 football ;)
