Join us while there still is time.

Anyone catch the pregame show today?  Did the IIAC  have any All-Americans?

Very interesting poat on the IIAC enrollements.  I did not know BV had 2376 students.  Are they all residential students or the "Upper Iowa type", i.e. computer enrollees?  An honest question.

Observation on the UWW-MtUnion game.  Those two teams played at a level that is  a notch or two above any game I have ever seen in the IIAC in the last 50 years.  Receivers play, RB jukes, QB throws and DB/DL/OL play had exceptional consistancy.  Not just an occasional good play.

This is not a knock on the IIAC but only to say that those two team played an exceptional game.

Congrats to the Whitewater and to Mt. Union for such entertainment.

The data I had was from the Department of Education.  Pat Coleman has government data from another site at... http://ope.ed.gov/athletics/InstList.aspx

Interesting how two government agencies can have different data.

BVU - 1,999
Central - 1,426
Coe - 1,249
Cornell - 1,103
Dubuque - 1,279
Loras - 1,440
Luther - 2,347
Simpson - 1,474
Wartburg - 1,729

Hey Cali,
Missed you at the Rugby X-mas party.

We didn't even finish the keg, but I think the strippers got to drink it once we left.  So everyone had a Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas to everyone on the board!
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Probably reflects different years or slightly different wording about what they are looking for, such as degree-seeking students or all students.  All students would include high school students, post-baccalaureate, guest/visiting students, etc. that would not be in degree-seeking student counts.

From the Telegraph Herald

"Late-breaking: Suspects named
A former University of Dubuque standout football player was one of two men arrested Friday in connection with a robbery Thursday morning at Kennedy Road US Bank branch.

Travis A. Strowbridge, 23, was a preseason all-American tackle for UD in 2008."

Regardless it is a damn shame.  23 years old and having this hanging over you for the rest of your life.  What the hell was he thinking?

For him, it was all about football and that was the major problem. He also had some other troubles with the law which lead to his being not let back into school and of course, not allowed back on the team.

It's too bad the Telegraph Herald mentions that he USED to play football for UD but of course, I would expect nothing less from a Lorass/catholic biased organization. I am sure if they put that much effort into digging up dirt on people, they could find a few ex-lorass students with some shady involvements.....but of course, that would never make the paper...

Moving on, he was a past recruit on a past team. As soon as UD realized he was trouble, they handled it regardless of his "football" status as pre-season all-american. That says a lot for the administration about letting someone go that wasn't here for the right reasons. It's just too bad for him given the opportunity he was given, he didn't make the most of it.

Funny how Speedkills brings it up.......do you work for the TH too  ???

But I suppose lorass needs to try to get ANY edge they can in recruiting this year after finishing 8th.  ;D

My bad Speedkills, I thought you posted it. Steelhawk did. It was the starting with the S and post that threw me off.  ::)
