Loras' 2010 roster

http://www.duhawks.com/roster/0/5.php

Quote from: 2010 IIAC PREVIEWLoras head coach Steve Osterberger says, "The 2010 season will be another competitive one in the Iowa Conference. I continue to believe that every week in this league is challenge for each of our nine teams. Four quarters of consistent football on both sides of the ball will put us in position to improve our record from a year ago. I like our freshman class, too. Some of them will push for time once they are familiar with the systems we run. Elmhurst and Rockford will provide new looks for us in the non-conference and get us ready for Iowa Conference games."

I didn't think there were many Irishmen in Iowa.  so who is this sam o'nella that is causing so much trouble?

The name is Sal Monella and he's Italian.

I've heard of that guy.  You are in big trouble if he makes you an omlette you can't refuse.

Cornell's 2010 roster numbers 57

Quote from: 2010 IIAC PREVIEWCornell head coach Vince Brautigam says, "Our senior leadership has been phenomenal and our freshmen are eager.  Our goal is to improve each week and to put ourselves in a position to win. Until someone bumps  the top three out, you  would have to say they are the early favorites. The rest of the conference teams are very capable of making a run and beating any conference team on any given day."

I count 3 qb's on the roster.  The returning starter is a sophomore and 5'9...the other 2 are freshmen and both are 5'7 :o :o :o

24 freshmen on the roster of 57.  The roster is about the same size as last season.  With only losing 5 seniors that is a bit of a turnover in the program.  Though you always seem to lose a fair amount of players when you have a coaching change.

I would agree with the way the coaches voted things as to my prediction. Looks spot on....at least on paper ;)

Quote from: 2010 IIAC PREVIEWBuena Vista head coach Jay Anderson says, "We are excited to get going with the 2010 season. We have a good group of returning players, but there will be position battles in camp for our offensive skill positions. The IIAC will be very competitive once again in 2010."

Aaron Kampman on Coach Ed Thomas
I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

#1 Jared Wauters being from La Porte City automatically makes him a great kid and I am sure a future all-american

My wife taught sunday school to Matthew Popelka...she grew up in traer

So there are at least 2 good kids at Wartburg ;D

I count 127 on the roster...I forget, is that good or bad to have a roster that big???

I'm having a great time reading the 2010 Kickoff.  A nice feature this year is being able to look at past years editions.

Interesting comments regarding the IIAC.  Anxious for the season to start now and see if some of their predictions come true!!!

Stiefel's most experienced QB on Roster

http://www.mlive.com/sports/saginaw/index.ssf/2008/09/stiefel_at_the_head_of_saginaw.html

He started for Saginaw Valley State in 2008, was 181 for 334 for 2113 yards, 14 TD's and 12 INT's. Not much of a runner but good passer. Not sure why he didn't play in 2009? He wasn't listed on the roster. However, it seems Coach Collins got a transfer JR QB from Indiana State that year that took over the QB duties. Stiefel probably saw the writing on the wall knowing he wasn't going to play in his final 2 years at Saginaw. The only thing I wasn't able to dig up was why he didn't play last year? Maybe he had to sit out a year as far as transfer rules? Not sure, but I assume he has 2 years eligibility left.

Being he was a D2 starter, I assume he will be a very good QB at this level. Thanks for posting 5 words or less and letting the "orange cat out of the bag".
