Well, at least you get to see front and center that the right call was made.

It's edgy but at least it is exciting.  Imagine how dull it must be to be Whitewater fan and all you have to look forward to is the next blow out.

Judging by the crowd reaction it doesn't appear to be too dull.  Of course nothing is more exciting than watching your team turn the ball over time after time after time.  I mean you just can't beat that kind of excitement.  ;)
I hear there was quite a reaction when the Christians were fed to the lions.

I'm a little on edge here with the Dutch, 1 takeaway and 6 turnovers so far!!!! :(    too many penalties and played at least 4 TB's Sat at Auggie.  All that talent coming back and on the verge of wasting it to sloppy play.

I have been a Central fan for many a decade.  I watched when the Dutch just absolutley blew every team out of the water during regular season.  It wasn't that bad.   ;)  Far easier on the old ticker.  But the close games do get us more prepared for close games in the playoffs.  The truly elite teams, such as the two that have made up; the last 5 Stagg Bowls may be able to continue the blow outs in the playoffs.  But I have seen many teams with season long blow outs struggle when actually challenged.

So go ahead and challenge.  Just don't beat us.   :D

A little trip down memory lane.

Two years ago, half way through the season, the Norse were tied with BV and Wartburg atop the IIAC. The Norse had the tie breaker with BV and a date the following week with the Warts.
Coe came into Decorah 2-5 and still struggling to find a QB to replace TeKippe. Their QBs were leading the league in interceptions and fumbles. The Norse owned the first half holding Coe to around 50 yards of offense while scoring two TDs and a field goal. Right before the half, the Norse were inside the Coe 10 yard line with about 10 seconds to go and no time outs. The Freshman QB (Reynolds) scrambled to the sideline and instead of getting out of bounds, tried to score and was stopped at the one and the clock run out.
Coe recieved the 2nd half kickoff, the return man got drilled and the ball flew out into a teamates hands in full stride who went untouched for a score. Those events woke up Coes defense and the Norse never threatened again. Coes offense was still floundering and after another interception and a defensive stop, Coe trotted out a Freshman QB. (Boyle) He started moving the team with his feet and short passes into Luther territory. The Norse forced a punt that the return man muffed into the end zone where Coe fell on it to make the score 16-14. Later Boyle put together another nice drive that ended at the Luther one yard line. (either on downs or a punt)  A couple plays later Coe got a safety to send the game to overtime. Luther had the ball first and kicked a field goal. On the very first play, Boyle drilled a well covered reciever in the end zone. GAME OVER
Luther went on to lose to both Wartburg and Loras after that. I'll let the Coe fans fill in the blanks as to how their fortunes changed after that game.

Thats kind of a nice story. I hope I had my facts straight.

Yes ... it just doesn't take away the sting.

And my condolences to you as well.

Thunderbolt, I think you have most of that story correct. If my memory is still halfway decent, I believe the drive that ended around the Luther one came from a fumble. The touchdown that Boyle threw was to the TE that was more than well covered. I believe he took the ball out of the linebacker's hands as he fell into the end zone. Nice recap.

I don't think so. But when eating goulash, I do like to line up my noodles from smallest to biggest.

When are you, me, and Eric Oliver going to hang out.  What about late night Saturday at the Home Port with Percy.  Used to hang out with  those two at the Paradise all the time.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

I'm not much for "hanging out" any more. Besides, road tripping to Decorah and Green Bay this weekend.

Seems like when ever Andrew Burdick starts playing very good they take him out and put Juan Flores in and Flores throws more interceptions than completions. Andrew Burdick looks like a all-conference caliber QB, then it seems like when they put Flores in its throws his rythem off. I think Cornell would of won the game if they just kept Burdick at QB.
