This morning the forecast is 70% chance of rain tomorrow and a high of 60 with the prediction showing rain starting in CR around 11:30 and going for several hours, possibly ending with another lightening show.  I have already been to two lightening ended games this year for Central, one JV and one varsity.  I'm starting to feel like a weather jinx.  I may have to debate the benefits of a nice dry home environment with a laptop view of the game.   :( :(  I will have to see what the forecast is at 20 tonight or maybe early tomorrow morning.

I'm not a fair weather fan, but I'm also not as young as I once was and 3 hours in the rain in Coe's limited bleacher seating makes me think one of the young up and coming Dutch fans might enjoy my wet seat while I enjoy a dry one.

Not that the weathermen/women ever get it right, but early in the week I was hearing 75 and sunny, last I heard it was a prediction of 68 and rain for Saturday afternoon.  So will it be a good day to be a running team or a passing team?  Sounds like another day of going prepared for almost anything.  What's new?  Given the year, it will likely be rain.   :'(  But maybe that will be more pro-Central.   ???

What is it supposed to be like Saturday night at 7pm...in Dubuque...That is what I need to know ;)

I am just going to keep this weather info from my wife.  We will be in Iowa City on Saturday for the Hawkeye game.  If she knows it is supposed to rain I suspect she might start coming up with excuses to miss the game.  She likes going with me to football games, but I suspect her enthusiasm might wain if it is cool and rainy outside.  She already told me we can't do a Hawkeye/UD double header this weekend.  Something about being too tired the next day for church and sunday school ;)

Hmmm...football or church/sunday school...let me think about this one for a second...:)

Doolittle I have suggestion let the little woman go to the indoor arena (AKA the Mall) across the street from the HAWKEYE EXPRESS.  Take the express to the game if it starts raining she can ride the train back and go to the mall.  In January I told Klompen that everytime I go to Pella I drop a couple of C's on mainstreet.  I bet your wife would have no problem dropping 4 or 5 C's at that mall.
Thanking you in advance for the economic stimulus.

Congratulations to your son and your family on this recognition!  That is terrific news, AZD.

But keep your mom away from the internet Saturday.   ;)

Klompen

Bird Dog, I had some serious stimulus plans for CR on Saturday too, can't you make the weather more welcoming?

I'm with Doolittle, wait until we are playing a low tier team to let her watch Central, that would be her best shot of seeing her grandson playing anyway.

I'm not exactly sure how to take that??
Maybe I should have sent him to Wartburg. This way he would be a starter. They probably would even sub him in at running back or quarter back.  ;) ;) ;)

We'll gladly accept him, but since it's not roofing season, he'll have to take the same deal as the Dutch.  ;D

Bird Dog is a prophet.  My wife told me a few minutes ago that if it is raining tomorrow she just wants to tailgate with us and then hit up the mall.  We were already planning on taking the Hawkeye Express, so there you go.  Hopefully I can tear her away from the mall afterwards in time for us to make it back home so I can watch UD/Cornell on the computer...inside our warm, dry house ;D

Dubuque 30, Cornell 10 — Former Spartans coach Vince Brautigam returns to the program he resurrected from the dead, but without a Jermar Jackson-esque playmaker to counter the Spartans' arsenal of offensive weapons (QB Wyatt Hanus, WRs Michael Zweifel and DeMacus Fleming).

Wartburg 27, Loras 6 — The Duhawks' three-game road swing comes to a rough end against the Knights' smashmouth, top-ranked IIAC defense (yielding just 9 points per game) anchored by quarterback hunter Matt Tschetter (5 sacks in three games).

"What to watch: Wartburg will put its top-ranked Iowa Conference defense, led by linebacker Blake Suckow (20 solo, 14 assisted) back onto the field Saturday. The Knights are allowing just 256 yards (1st in IIAC), 66 rushing yards (1st) and 9.0 points (1st). Additionally, Wartburg has picked off six passes, recovered three fumbles and recorded 13 sacks in its first three games. "

You know he probably would be, but this way he gets to win conference championships and is on the team that goes to the playoffs.  His turn will come, he is doing what it takes and I'm sure is getting noticed.  We will have some linemen graduating this year.

Let me revise that.  I give Coe credit for being very good, therefore, I don't think their will be many substitutions, provided the starters remain healthy.  But, I would love to see him playing tomorrow.

Where the heck are they getting their stats from?  They sure aren't the same as reported on the IIAC or NCAA site.  Central is leading the conference in rushing defense, well if you don't count the fact that BV didn't allow any yards rushing in their zero conference games played.   ;)
