Hey if she says no stay and watch the rest of the game.

It is a rare Central College football season that I get to see two football games live and in person, so I feel obliged to make an actual football related comment once again.  Even though Simpson, in general, sucks, I won't dump on the football team or coach.  From everything I read pre-game, they are a young team, and that is what they played like against Central Saturday.  On the other hand, Central is an upperclassman dominated team.  I have high hopes, even yet for them this season, but they are still makeing some disturbing mistakes and having trouble playing four quarters.  It seems to me that I have read a goal is to get better each week.  I fully expect them to keep getting better.  Here is what I would like to happen.  I would like to never see another snap get bobbled or otherwise go awry, or a punt get blocked or the need to call two time outs in a row without getting a play off.

Even when they had losing teams in recent years or decades past, they were able to work up some enthusiasm for playing Central and they had a generally good fan base.  Their fan numbers were down, they didn't really play well at any point, even their TD off a blocked Central punt was kind of ho-hum.  What gives?  We've been picking on them with jokes all week, no replies, no "we're going to show them attitude".  Nothing.  I think Simpson is the new Cornell.  Makes me wonder how long Coach G will be around.  Any speculation?

The reality of any team can beat any other team on any given day can disappear for a team.
The football program of our high school rivalry team has been struggling for the past six years. What was a standing room only game turned into the stands being half full on their side. But this year they were over full. With a new head coach, the prediction of the newspapers of a win and the belief that they could win turned things around even after their 0-3 start.
They won the David against the Goliath game. Unfortunately the years before their players, team and the parents gave up before the game even happened. This year the belief was there.
On the high school boards the posters and the jokes were back (along with some stupidity). The rivalry came back to life.

Looks like the Knights just missed the Top 25 this week.  Was really looking forward to another Top 25 showdown at Clark Field.  Should be a barn burner anyway.

KK:  I'm happy the polls came out as they did.  I prefer the Knights not be rated prior to this game.  If the Knights lose, the top 25 would have only lasted a week.  If they win, the victory is all that much sweeter.  All in all I agree, it should be a barn burner.

7-6 game with under 2 minutes left.  The Loras LUTHER RB gets into the secondary and a UD CENTRAL DB just put his hands on his hips and watched the guy run by him into the endzone.

I guess the Knights were ranked in the coaches poll last week and probably will be again this week, but I think we all know who has the better rankings system.

Anyone else on here having trouble getting to read all of the West Column in Around the Regions?

Can you tell me a little more about this? I didn't see a problem but someone using a beta version of Firefox 4.0 did. Is that the same browser you're using?

The CR Police are confiscating the pitchforks, rakes, and shovels from neighborhood residents.    8-)

No ... just when I clicked on "read more" nothing came up.

With it being Coe's HC & a couple of undefeated teams, trying to find a place to tailgate, etc may be a problem. I think there may be a yard right across from the stadium that may be available. You just need to ask the owner.
