I join in the prayers for the Luther player injured today.  Please someone from Luther give us an update when more is known.  Hate to see serious injuries to any player.  Always brings back memories of when a Central player was paralyzed from the neck down.  Way too scarey.

Congratulations to Wartburg.  Really did not see that coming.  Wonder if Coe let the pressure get to them and played more not to lose?  Either way, Congratulations Knights.

Luther was not an easy game for Central again this year.  Was worried when it was 14 all that it would be another tight game today.  Fortunately things got better as the game went on, with the exception of the injury to the Luther player.  Good job by Luther in not giving up today.

Add my prayers to the Luther player as well.

Congrats to the Knights for a big win.  I did have the Knights in the Pickems so happy I picked them.

Congrats to the Dutch, not an easy win but a win.

the central/wartburg game in a couple weeks just got reallllllllll interesting.
Terrell Owens was asked for one word to describe himself. He said "confident." When asked for another word he said "very."

Way to go Knights, great win in a hostile atmosphere.  I must say I was suprised by the treatment of Wartburg fans by Coe.  The Coe fans were great but your employees leave a bad taste.

If Central/Coe/Wartburg all go 7-1 in conference play...wouldn't Coe get the playoff spot with the Rose Bowl rule???

Dubuque will beat Wartburg next weekend anyway ;)

Prayers and best wishes to the youngster form Luther today.  Looks like he was a freshman and we hope all the precautionary measures were unnecessary.

Luther hung tough and had Central plenty nervous on the day.  Congrats to Wartburg, unless the Dutch improve over the next few weeks I'm not sure if we can eve get to the 3 way tie now.  Looks liek DBQ also had a big win  From what I've seen I'd say DBQ and Luther are both in the hunt for 4th place.  Of course Loras and BV could change all that too.

Hey, if you didn't get attacked by garden tools or worse, you aren't even in the running.   :D

Add my prayers to those for the injured Luther player.

Depends on whether your rule is written "last team to make the playoffs" or "last time to win the conference title."

Well this certainly makes the top 25 a bit more interesting, doesn;t it?

The Knights put together four quartes of solid football. If I heard the stats correctly they had over 260 yds rushing and 175 passing. Coe's kicking game gave Wartburg a short field many times. Coe's two interceptions vs. none for the Knights also helped. The pick in the end zone at the end of the first half was a killer. Except for one long pass and catch, Coe had to earn their yards, and coupled with some poor field position was the story of the game.

Next week worries me. The Spartans always play us tough, and a win against Wartburg would be the high point of their season. I hope the Knights keep focused as they have been so far.

I'm not sure since Coe got a Pool C bid last year does that give it to Wartburg?  Or do they go by the last time a team got the AQ?  If its the latter you would be correct since Wartburg got the AQ two years ago.

A lot of football to play yet..... I hope we won't have to worry about that scenario. I believe if it played out that way, the Warts would get the AQ.....We need to take care of UD first, which I think the Knights will do.

Just got home, yes it is late  ;)

I just want to comment on both the game and the atmosphere I experienced today. I have been affiliatd with UD now for 20 years and this was by far the best experience I have had. The game was great.....  we won convincely. But more the that, the atmosphere on campus all day was electric, from the mechanical bull to the parade and lunch, there was just an excitement on campus that was awesome. The alumni event after the game was so much fun and even us late 30 year olds ventured into "young spartan" territory at the bars/clubs and what made me proud was the hotest spot in Dubuque was filled with students/fans/alums proudly wearing Spartan attire.

I know we can not win he IIAC this year but I have watched the Spartans and know this is a better team then last year as a whole and am excited for the future of UD football. We have a great coaching staff and an amazing core of players that are going to bring us a lot of pride and fun in the years to come.

Happy Homecoming Spartan Fans 2010!!!
