Last week the Central punter had an 86 yarder which missed the school record by 2 yds.  From what I have heard of BV's football field, it is the place to go to get off a record punt.  The wind is supposed to be 10-15 mph NNW.  It would be one of those good news bad news things.  Good to get the record, bad to have to be punting from inside your own 12.

Especially if he is punting south to north since the field slightly tilts down that way and he can get a few extra yards.

Congrats to all.  No one bit on that one ... or maybe you just don't take me seriously.
Reality is for those who lack imagination 😀

No chatter on here???  Was everyone out at the games today???

64 degrees and sunny out...another perfect day for football in Iowa!!!

Too bad for the Rams again today....21-13.  Perhaps it is best that they do move on if MWC says yes.  I can't imagine that they would tell the IIAC they are out unless they had some assurance from MWC that they would be accepted.  Tough to go Independent.  Cornell will surely be missed BUT

Cornell did beat Dartmouth today!!! if not Simpson.

I think the IIAC will find it difficult to find a replacement.

I heard today that if the conference drops below eight memebers it loses it Automatic Qualifier.  Anybody know if that is true.  Maybe I should quit complaing about having to drive to BV.

Talked to St. Ambrose (NAIA) women's basketball coach she said she get $12,000 a year to dole out.  She didn't think any NAIA school would go to DIII.

Congratulations to Culver-Stockton College won first game in two years.  My son went there.

Not true. You need seven for an automatic qualifier in Division III.

Walston,

let me congratulate you and your brother on two fine seasons so far.  It has been fun following your seasons.  Good luck Monday and keep the Maroons and Falcons going.

Ok, who was it that kicked sand in Cornell's eyes?  :'(
Somebody made them mad.   >:(
They don't like their new friends in the IIAC playground any longer.   :P
They're going to take their ball and go home.    :(

The Norse put a scare into the Knights.  If you weren't there you have no idea how close we came to having a three way tie on the IIAC leader board.  I would guess there in be a spirited week of practice in Waverly.

I hope you all get to watch a clip of the Norse touchdown at the close of the first half.  That Norse receiver had to have some serious concentration to catch that ball.  I hated it at the time, but I'm looking forward to seeing it again.

That play alone should be proof that you never give up, never give up, never give up the ship.

I wish #42 for the Norse was on Wartburg's squad.  He seemed at times to gain yardage at will.  I see he has the same last name and is from the same hometown as a former Wartburg womens track & field standout.  I'd hate to think we had his sister or cousin on campus and missed out on him.

Was the Norse #3 who aided the Wartburg cause with a personal foul in the 4th quarter, the same #3 character who took the Norse out of the game in the 4th quarter last year with a personal foul?  If so, the Luther coaching staff needs to have a talk with the kid.

That was a harsh comment directed toward #3 on Luther squad. I was mere yards from the hit at that point, it was a poor call by the side judge (yes, I am a Norse Fan, but speaking as a football fan).  Luther had a chance to respond a few plays later but was unable to respond.

Warty,

Did you folks present a donation to Luther for Chris Norton at your game? I thought I read that the Wartburg community was going to do that.

Congrats on the win. It's looking like a real battle between you and Central in a few weeks.

It may have been a little harsh, but two years in a row Luther has been in a position to win this contest.  This kid gets three what I call "emotion" calls in the 4th quarter of those games (2 in 2009 & 1 in 2010).  So, yes it may be harsh but I think I would be talking to the kid.

There wasn't any kind of formal presentation.  I assume it will be some sort of low key deal.  In pregame there was an announcement about his improving condition and informatiion about the sharing of the concession sales.
