The new face of UD......

http://www.thonline.com/article.cfm?id=300775

Featuring the new Willie University Residence halls...each room comes with king size beds, lava lamps, disco ball, and Barry White music on the sound system...and close to the football practice field so you can delay leaving for practice until the very last minute ;)

I think I totalled up a little over $140million in new construction going back to 1999 at UD.  That is impressive.  Now, hopefully in the near future Willie, DBQ1965 and I can talk about what's better...UD making the Stagg Bowl...or UD winning 5 straight IIAC titles ;)

I vote for both!

Warty,

Did you folks present a donation to Luther for Chris Norton at your game? I thought I read that the Wartburg community was going to do that.

Congrats on the win. It's looking like a real battle between you and Central in a few weeks.

There wasn't any kind of formal presentation.  I assume it will be some sort of low key deal.  In pregame there was an announcement about his improving condition and informatiion about the sharing of the concession sales.

Classy move to share the take from the concessions. It would be generous of Luther's next opponents to do the same. People need to remember this young man and his family.

Those of us stuck working every weekend are able to donate online, directly through the CaringBridge website.  ;)

You can direct it to the family.

The Wartburg people are being coy so far this week.  Do they know something they aren't sharing?  My scouting (aka reading their web site) doesn't tell me much except that they seem to be balanced and deep.  Sounds like trouble.  I also got to see a little bit of their season opener against Monmouth and was impressed with the way they made that preseason All American qb look bad.  I guess it is a cliché, but I think this game will be settled in the trenches.  Central will need a strong running game.  I think they need to avoid obvious passing situations so the Wart defense stays honest.  Go Dutch!

Not being coy at all. We're genuinely concerned after last week's game. It looks like we need to get a lot of things corrected before Saturday. I'd love to be laughing and joking, but playing Central is no laughing matter.

Wartburg parents also took a collection at the Dubuque and Luther tailgates for his family. NKD may have more of the particulars. I would hope every school in the IIAC would do something for them. We're all family off of the field.

I delivered the money donated from the tailgates the last two games to Coach Durnin after the game on Saturday and asked him to let the Norton family know our prayers are with them as Chris recovers.

This isn't a surprise. You Iowa people are something else.
