OK hot-stove league fans, tell me where I'm wrong.  ???

You went to Wartburg, you root for Wartburg and your wardrobe makes it look like you celebrate Halloween year round.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Things have been a little dead, so lets liven it up a little.

I predict Wartburg will go 10-0 during the regular season again next year.  8-)

The opening game at Monmouth against a red-shirted quarterback (Mr. Tanney) may be a big hurdle. A new and improved UD at Chalmers Field and a rival game at Luther to end the season could be challenges.  Those issues aside, I'm thinkinking a returning quarterback, some stong defensive players, and having Coe & Central in the friendly confines of Walston-Hoover, makes for a very positive situation.   :D

You went wrong by not following in your mothers footsteps ;D

After being let down this past season, I am going to follow my Missouri roots and am waiting for my Spartans to "show me"...no, not THAT "ShowMe"...my Spartans have all the pieces to make a run, they just have to put them all together.  Which can be a tough task in the IIAC.

This past season seemed to put Warty, Coe and Central a notch above the rest of the conference...it's time for the rest of the conference to get back to work and improve some more.

The rest of the conference also needs to follow in Central and Luthers lead and post their 2011 schedules...even if they have some TBD dates on there.  The earlier I can see schedules, the earlier I can get approval from Mrs doolittle to get to some games.  One game that will be circled will be UD @ Cornell for what I guess will be our final conference battle.  Ash Park in the fall is always a nice place to see a game...plus there is Chamelions with their Blue/bleu cheeseburger baskets and uh, you know, BEER.

That may be true, but it makes it much easier to identify us when we are sent outside to mow the courthouse lawn or wash windows at the jail.

Here is where you are wrong.  In the last 7 Central v Wartburg games, the visitors have won 6.  Think about that until 10/29/11.

I just read that article. I'm sure he'll enjoy the experience.

Been busy so this is obviously late. Congrats to all the all-IIAC players & Coach Willis. Additional congrats to all the Knights, especially WKIII's roomies: 3 1st teamers & 2nd teamer-all Jrs!! The Knights will be returning a good nucleus next year!! I like warthog's 10-0.....

Unless the forecast or the weather changes drastically overnight I'm driving to Naperville tomorrow for the North Central College - UW Whitewater game ... and I think I'll wear red.  All I have to worry about is the lake-effect snow belt that stretches from Holland, MI to Michigan City, IN.

Just for fun I looked up and for the last ten years the Knights have a 6-4 edge against the Dutch.  The interesting thing is that the visiting team is 7-3 over the ten years with the Knights have four of the 7 wins.  I am not so sure that you want to think having the game at home is a huge advantage.  The Knights may indeed win with the returning players but I am not so sure that the friendly confines of Walston will be the reason for winning.

Ask Santa for a truck and a snowplow...then you will never have to worry about making it to playoff games in the future...or getting your wife out for christmas shopping ;)

Good luck today, that should be a good game to see.

OK-OK-OK

DutchFan2004 and Fannosaurus Rex are right.  Geez, I hate that when facts get in the way of a good story.

After agreeing with them that the visiting team has won more Central/Wartburg football games during the last decade than the home team, something still keeps telling me the Knights are better off playing the Dutch at home next season.

I have to believe most of us would rather have our favorite team play a big game at home rather than on the road.

Spent yesterday in Naperville for the NCC-UWW playoff game.  Hit snow around Benton Harbor at 10 a.m. and the snow continued off and on until midway through the 4th qrtr ... around 3 p.m.  Good game with two evenly matched teams.  NCC had critical turnovers in the 2nd half that cost them the game.  UWW's confidence from winning in the playoffs in past years certainly factored into the victory.  Walked from where I parked on the street over to the stadium with the very nice parents of UWW line backer Lane Olson.  He played a great game (9-1/2)  tackles as did one of NCC's linebackers, Matt Wenger (11.5 tackels).  I was impressed by the defenses more than the offenses, though both teams showed a couple of "big play" downs.  The punter for UWW was stellar with two punts inside the 5-yd. line.  Glad I went ... wished I had been watching an IIAC team in a regional final.

Personally, I have to believe most os us would rather have our favorite team WIN a big game regardless of where it is played.   ;)  And, I'm sure you will agree, there is nothing like knocking off a top team on their own field.   The Dutch will have some big holes to fill in the O-line next year and special teams with 4 year punter and kicker both graduating.  I think that might be more of an advantage than the friendly confines of Walston Hoover as well.
