I tried hard to represent the Dutch in the ESPN College Pick'ems, but I ended up in 33,784th place. I chased SpeedKills8 throughout the season, but could not catch him.

Congratulations to SpeedKills8 on his first place win! 8-)

It's sounds like it was quite a battle between the two of you.  ;D

By the middle to end of this week if I heard the latest podcast correctly.

Jr's first year coaching (TE Coach) results in the CIF-San Diego Section Division 1 Championship.  A whole lotta fun seeing him and Rev. 3 out on the field at Qualcomm Stadium  :)
Congrats on the win! I'm still a little sour about Oceanside's continued success and El Camino's fall off the face of the earth.

Didn't you hear?  It's officially a rivalry.  EC beat the Pirates 24-14 this year...first since...probably...Cornell beat Coe or something like that.  Pulu really is getting things turned around.  Next year will be his first group to be together in his program all 4 years...they could be tough, as they have some legit skill guys.  The bigger problem is that Oceanside will be loaded.  I am happy to say that Vista beat them both this season.   8-)

I haven't ever heard of a high school championship going in this direction. What a mess in Charleston West Virginia...

(there are many news stories covering this topic)

To try to sum up the story...
South Charleston high school won the quarter finals, but was involved in a fight. Players were suspended. An injunction was filed to stop the suspension of the players. They went on to win the semi finals. The injunction was overturned. They then had to forfeit the game for using ineligibly players.  The team that they beat in the semi finals will now be in the championship.

I would have to vote on the coach being the problem. The coach, in many of his quotes, supported his players and felt cheated . *And of course the parents.*

I am very proud to say that my sons high school team was awarded, for the second consecutive year, the Sportsmanship Award. This recipients of this award is decided by a vote from all the officials.  ;D

OK-OK-OK

DutchFan2004 and Fannosaurus Rex are right.  Geez, I hate that when facts get in the way of a good story.

After agreeing with them that the visiting team has won more Central/Wartburg football games during the last decade than the home team, something still keeps telling me the Knights are better off playing the Dutch at home next season.

I have to believe most of us would rather have our favorite team play a big game at home rather than on the road.

I agree with you that the Knights will be the favorite next year.  Not because of the venue but with what the Dutch lose compared with what the Knights lose to graduation.  I also agree with you that big games are better for the fans at home than on the road.  If history does really repeat itself that might make me nervous as a Knight fan.   ;D ;D ;D

I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.
