From the Wartburg web-site:  Wartburg College Director of Athletics Rick Willis announced Wednesday, Jan. 18, that Tiffany (Treanor) Pins is the school's new women's soccer head coach.

So, will dutchfan1 now become a Wartburg soccer fan?

I had two cousins that played football for the Knights and I did not become a Wartburg football fan. 

With all these family members associated with Wartburg...I'm starting to think Dutchie is the black sheep of her family

Good news for all you Black & Orange haters:

I would assume that this year's pathetic showing in men's basketball will end the Knight's strangle hold on the Hertl All-Sports trophy.  Perhaps the Wartburg hoopsters have grown soft with their improved surroundings in the "W".  It doesn't seem to hold the same home court advantage that Knights Gymnasium provided.  That cold and drafty old barn brought out the best in the Knights.

Luckily for Dubuque, Joe and Linda Chlapaty aren't jerks like that UConn guy seems to be.  That said, I would think President Bullock and AD Runkle would be smart enough to include the Chlapaty family in any big decisions concerning UD.  Especially since the Chlapaty's have given 10 times the amount that guy has given to UConn. 

I did hear from some football parents this season they were told the big reason Brautigam was let go at UD was not so much the wins/losses but that he wasn't recruiting enough local kids.  The story went that Chlapaty didn't spend all that money on facilities to see it sitting empty on saturday afternoons.  It was thought that if a coach could be brought in and recruit locally, that would improve attendance at UD games...both at home and away games.

I totally agree with you on that.  That guy in the UConn article came off as a horrible and concieted person to think he should have any say in what went on the the UConn athletic department.
