When I played Central football, I was considered the Iowa Conference Bill Romanowski. When I stepped onto the field, people knew I was going to talk trash, its the way I play, its the way I post. Its just my mentality. I rubbed some guys wrong on the field, especially some Knights, but at the same time, I put my heart into it. I don't come on here to be a D3 commentator, I come here to be myself. The same guy you got on those field, you will get on these boards. I may rub some people the wrong way, but believe me when I say my heart is in the right place.

I'm brash, but I'm the dude you want when you need a play, these colors don't run...nuff said

Andrew, what size helmet did you wear? 10 7/8?

When I played Central football, I was considered the Iowa Conference Bill Romanowski.

I contacted several former IIAC football players via e-mail last night.  I asked if any of them ever remembered a player at Central that they considered the "Bill Romanowski" of the IIAC.   Sorry to report none of them did.  Perhaps KnightSlayer101 is mistaken.  It sounds like he may have been the Rodney Dangerfield of the IIAC, it appears he gets no respect.

Judging by his posts, he may have lost all the respect he did have.

"It is time for us all to stand and cheer for the doer, the achiever -- the one who recognizes the challenges and does something about it."
Vince Lombardi quote

I'm the doer, the acheiver. Those who want to criticize me seem a bit jealous.

I don't mean to ruffle any feathers, I just want to be me on these boards. I am proud of my body of work at Central and what I sacrificed. I think I deserve more respect considering what I have done for the school and team. That said, maybe I can work on my tone. This board seems more for fans, I thought it was former players.

To the dutch fan woman-I am really happy you love the dutch, I did not mean to offend you.
To the Wartburg crowd, I never will expect you to like me, you didn't when I played, you will never.

Some reasons for my Central pride:

"That's among the latest of the numbers surrounding the Central program that seemingly sparkle more each year. The Dutch—
--are the second-winningest team in NCAA Divisions I, II and III since 1975 with an .810 winning percentage (301-70-1).
--are the third-winningest NCAA college or university squad in the past 50 years with a .799 mark (405-101-1).
--have an even loftier .894 (106-14) winning percentage for regular-season home games since Ron and Joyce Schipper Stadium opened in 1977.
--have finished first or second in the Iowa Conference in 27 of the past 30 years.
--have posted undefeated regular seasons in three of the past four years and posted a 43-4 regular-season mark in that span.
--haven't had a losing season since 1960."

See I try to change my tone, and I get attacked by Warthog. I don't think I am a legend, but I know what I am. Among my friends I was Bill Romanowski, see Warthog I don't know who your friends are but if they played for Central, they wouldn't let you diss me like that...like I said, giving you fans a little behind the scenes, thats what we have-a brotherhood. You think I am kidding...how do you think we are so successful because we are just pals on the field? Give me a break.

Now for those who want me to change my tone...a couple of predictions...I try to get my hands on anything D3 football IIAC, so just keep in mind that they may be a little off...minus Central of course

No one is questioning your playing career or your sacrifices, but that doesn't make you unique. Many outstanding players have come before you and after you at all the conference schools. It's unfortunate that you have ongoing physical issues, but again so have many others. All of us here appreciate what you've given to the game. Where you ruffle fearthers is in your lack of respect for the game coupled with what seems to be an inflated sense of self importance. If you go back and talk to Coach Mac, he'll reinforce that one player does not win a football game, no matter how good that player is. It takes a total team effort to do so. Perhaps with a little reflection, you may realize that your teamates and coaches contributed to your on field successes as much as your own efforts. I know that I for one am disappointed that someone with your ego came from a program that has carried itself with so much class over the years. I hope that in the years to come you have the opportunity to learn that to get respect you must first give it.

When have I ever minimized the accomplishments of my teammates? Have I not called them my brothers...

We accomplished what we did as a team. Coach Mac would want us to be confident as individuals, and I didn't play for him, he was after my time, but I know he would be proud of me and our team in what we did, and how we did it. I guess you guys just don't understand cause you weren't inside the huddle. We were confident in ourselves and when we took to business on the field.

But I do appreciate footballdaddy this: "All of us here appreciate what you've given to the game." IT does mean a lot, even if you criticized me, I can take that from you. You are at least reasonable compared to Warthog.

KnightSlayer WANTING to be compared to Bill Romanowski says an aweful lot about him.  With aweful being the key word.

Welcome to the board KnightSlayer.  You are welcome here.  I will just choose to ignore your posts for the most part from here on out until you start talking a bit more rationally.  Who knows, it could happen.

Does anyone have any info about who Coe might be playing their 1st 2 games next season after NCC backed out of their 1st week game and they haven't had a game listed for their 2nd week?

KnightSlayer101:
There is quite a difference between your first statement and your second.  You see most of us don't care that you were some sort of stud at Central College.  That is yesterday's news.

Unless you are Vern DenHerder, Wilbur Young, Freddie Jackson or Mike Eicheid your IIAC football biography fades away the day you took off your shoulder pads for the last time.  You were part of a storied program.  You made good friends.  That is it.

I don't think anyone minimizes the accomplishments or history of the Central Football tradition.  They have twice as many conference championships as any other IIAC team.  I believe Wartburg has the best conference record against the Dutch and still Central has won 2/3 of the games played between the two institutions.

You have every right to be proud of your school.  You don't need to come on here and try to verbally intimidate people because you were a former Central football player who happened to be on a team that won many more games than it lost.  We're not impressed.  We are all in the real world now.  To most of us DIII football is a diversion not a vocation.

Knight slayer, I'm not reasonable. Until you took the title, I was the most hated poster on here. if you've been out of school as long as you say you have and still feel the need to posture on here and look tough, you need another hobby.

As far as being a teamate, you say "I" an awful lot instead of "We".

As far as your predictions: The top 3 can go any way, but I'd invert your #4-#9
NKD: "We need a f**king touchdown, excuse my French"
FBD: "I didn't know touchdown was French."
