Homecoming games for 2011...

BVU
09/24 - Cornell

Central
10/01 - Coe

Coe
09/24 - Simpson

Cornell
10/15 - Dubuque

Dubuque
10/08 - Wartburg

Loras
09/24 - Simpson

Luther
10/15 - Buena Vista

Simpson
10/8 - Cornell

Wartburg
10/15 - Simpson

Simpson is the lucky duck with 3 schools scheduling the Storm for Homecoming.  Cornell wins 2nd prize with 2 schools hosting the Rams for their Homecoming.  I believe Cornell has now scheduled UD for their homecoming game in 2007, 2009, and 2011...anyone know about 2005???  Central, Loras, and Luther don't get to be a homecoming opponant this year  :-\

All homecomings will fall between 9/17 - 10/15.  10/15 is the most popular with Cornell, Luther, and Wartburg hosting homecoming on that date.  10/08 and a surprising 09/24 will each get 2 schools hosting homecoming.

Coe opens conference play with their homecoming game on 9/17.  The Kohawks only get 4 home games this year and two of them are in November  :o

If it wasn't for Lake Michigan, we could have more IIAC - MIAA games ... such as Hope vs. UD.  And since Olivet is only an hour away, I just might make that Comets vs. Rams game on 9/3.. Am I really saying ... Go Rams!

I can't wait to hear of some enterprising young Wartburg fans to scale the turbine and paint a bright orange Wartburg down the side of it...Then try to figure out how Luther will plot revenge  :D

Harmless pranks = fun ... vandalism sux

doolittledog

Yeah, fair enough.  I tend to take a light hearted approach to most everything.  I can see where that last comment probably went a bit far and one could see that as advocating vandalism.  No harm meant but I do see it probably wasn't the most appropriate response.

Now it would be nice to get some spring football info.

NewKnightDad

I think we all knew you were not advocating vandalism.  I am afriad of heights so maybe I can put a "W" sticker at the bottom!!   ::)

I had a friend named Carleton who climbed the water tower (no longer there) in Iowa City near Hawkeye Ct. student housing painting a perfect CARL.   Back in the 60's $300 was a lot of bucks to have it painted out.
Newknightdad  may I recommend and I think Carleton would agree it would look better if you put the G on the bottom and work up to the W on top.!

What do you think of this?

http://www.d3football.com/notables/2011/03/umhb-new-stadium

Doesn't Luther incorporate the student union with their with the Stadium?

UMHB home attendance 2010:  7700, 3650, 2734, 3059, 1955, and 2115.
21213 total home attendance.  3500 per game.

The article says the initial phase will have 10,000 seats.  Designed to add more seats latter.  With 6500 empty seats there should be lots of room to stretch out.

Misplaced priorities,  phase one should be the be the tailgating area.

A - Someone has a boat load of money

B - Hard to recruit Texas kids if you don't have a stadium that is as nice as your typical Texas High School football stadium :D

C - UMHB could be looking to follow fellow Texas school McMurry and head to D2 in the near future???

D - This could change the perception of some out there that think D3 is glorified intramurals or high school football!!!

Cornell...along with Grinnell, Drake, Washington U in St. Louis, U of Chicago, and Colorado College to form new conference.  FCS non-scholarship in football, D1 in all other sports to be called the Flyover Conference.  When asked by the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Courier to comment, Cornell AD John Cochrane replied "This will be great for our school and athletic department, you'd have to be a fool not to jump at this opportunity."
