So.....if/when Cornell moves back to the MWC, will they keep the "Oldest Rivalry West of the Mississippi" going with Coe?
I wouldn't see any value in the Coe Kohawks giving up a sure victory every season.  ;)

The Midwest Conference has ten teams.  Add Cornell that gives the conference eleven teams.  A round robin would be ten games.  Can you say goodbye longest rivalry west of the Mississippi.

That was the LAST post I make about Wartburg illegally buying student athletes to attend.......... I promise  ;)

No, don't stop.  I enjoy reading the Willie U. tales of espionage pertaining to the Knights' athletics program.  If Willie's assertions are true, Wartburg should ask for a refund from their male athletes this year since they didn't win the Elmer Hertl all-sports trophy.   :-[

I see Sarah Palin is going to be in Pella.  Does this automatically make her a Dutch fan?

If so that gives me one more reason not to like either of them.  >:(

Ms Palin is welcome to be a Central fan as long as she keeps her mouth shut.  When I want bologna, I go to the meat market youbetchya.

64 days until UD kicks off the 2011 season.  Everyone else in the IIAC gets to join in on the fun 2 days later.  Mrs. Doolittle booked rooms for us for UD homecoming Oct 8th (UD will beat Wartburg that day ;) ).  We plan to take the kids to UD@Cornell the next weekend.  If Dubuque is playing for a conference title I will probably make it to Cedar Rapids in early Nov. for UD@Coe...other than that, I'll be cheering from home.  This recent cooler than normal summer weather has been getting me anxious for some football.

I don't think ANYONE is excited about her visit...

I actually fell off my couch...The Atlantic, of all media outlets, was not beating the bushes to find Palin supporters?!? Shocking development.  ::)

Up Next: Glenn Beck does an unbiased piece that proves practically no one in America supports President Obama.

I'd like to respond to PH's last post, but I'm not sure what he was writing about.

If it has to do with UW Whitewater and Mount Union being the top dogs in D3 football, I agree with him.  That seems to be a fairly obvious point.

I think if I can follow my own Sierra Nevada-induced haze, Wartburg is marginally better than a team full of dead people...but that doesn't give their fans the right to pick on Cornell.  :D

So what you're saying is that a team of dead people would have went 9-1 in conference last year? ???

I find it hard to believe that no one busted my chops on this. I guess Warthog is angling for my "Most Hated Man on DIII" title.  :D

FBD: "I didn't know touchdown was French."

Your right the rivalry will probably continue  in every sport until 2112 when the football rivalry will end.  The others may continue.

No, I think the logic would hold that a team full of dead people would have gone 7-1 in conference...but that's the Sierra Nevada talking   :P

I snapped a picture of a Waverly water tower painted up in Wartburg colors and logo earlier this week.

Are there any other IIAC schools with a water tower painted up with their logo???

doolittledog: That Wartburg water tower is relatively close to Little Warthog's house.  I am so jealous.  Every day he can sip his morning coffee, gaze off to the west, and know all is good.

5WoL: I believe I saw just recently in the Iowa City Press Citizen that the city and university haven't come up with an agreement about that water tower.  I would think it would be so cool to have that looming over Kinnick Stadium.  What a marketing gimmic.  You know that everytime the Hawks were on TV for any reason that logo water tower would be shown.
