Looks like they are getting ready to restart the Wartburg Monmouth game.
Stands like this:

Wartburg 28 Monmouth 20

Monmouth has the ball on their own 9 yard line with less than 8 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter.

Starting about 6:30 Central time...

edolee

Wartburg 35 Monmouth 20.... 1:36 remaining Q4

Wartburg had 4th and 6 with 2 mins left on the Monmouth 35 and ran a reverse that picked up the first down, then ran it in on a long run on the next play... should have sealed the deal.

Game started at 1pm... will finish about 7pm.

Long day for the players and coaching staff with a long drive ahead of them.

Good showing for Loras against Elmhurst, but a tough loss, seems it was more like a women's basketball score (24-50). It just cant be easy playing a Chicago land school out of the gates. I'm sure they will tighten things up vs rockford next week.

Yeah, because a school located in Chicagoland MUST make that team tough as nails ::)

Hey wait a minute....I played football in Chicago!
I was sooo tough I dated a girl named Cheyenne
and she had a dagger tattooed on her thigh.  :o
(exact location I can not disclose)  ::)

Monmouth scores a TD to make it 35-28 Wartburg leading with 19 seconds remaining in the game.  Wartburg recovers the onside kick.  Wartburg will win...and does win.  Final score 35-28 Wartburg over Monmouth

AZ -- There was I guy I knew many years ago who moved to Chicago, had a dagger tattoo on his thigh (I understand),and had undergone a certain type of surgery. He was a Clint Walker fan and COULD have changed his/her name. Just wondering . . . . ::)

Coe's punter looked like he rolled an ankle (he had great follow-though - seriously). Can anyone tell me how he is doing?

It's sad when the only fans your team can muster up come from basketball and soccer postboards....  ???  :o :-[

Congrats to today's winners and especially cornell.

Hopefully everybody stayed healthy and no major injuries today.

Tough start for Central, obviously.  Really came down to the turnovers.  Two special teams fumbles and three interceptions - I know it's cliche, but you aren't going to win many games when you turn it over 5 times.

Other than the turnovers, I was impressed with the Central offense.  They're not going to line it up and run it right at you with their running back(s), but the line did a good enough job creating some room, and protected pretty well for Nate.  The game plan was solid, getting the ball out of his hands quickly and into the hands of their tall, playmaking receivers.

On defense, we really need to shore things up on the back end.  Three really long pass plays were the killer on defense.  Other than those three plays, our defense played really well I thought.  We defended the run well, and kept the short passes in front of us, preventing the short play from beginning a big play.  Now - it's just preventing those long passes from becoming big plays too!!

Coach Mac and his staff will have these boys ready to go next week - I'm excited for the home opener against Auggie!

Sounds like Wartburg is playing in one interesting game in WI. Weather and play-wise.

On a little different note, just finishing watching an excellent "made for TV" (saturday night) football movie. Not sure the name of it but I definitely want to add it to my "collection" of quality, motivational, and inspirational football movies of all time. Well worth the watch and especially for any father or coach wanting to teach kids whats most important in life.....

Willie and I are used to hearing Chicago kids at both UD AND Loras talking about how they are going to roll through the Iowa Conference for no other reason than they are from Chicago.  Many times those types of kids aren't around in the spring.  There are many great kids at both schools from the Chicagoland area though.  And, you know, that AZDutchman is pretty cool too ;)

After week 1...Cornell is at the top of the standings!!!
