she wouldn't play soccer if she goes to school in florida, fau and fgcu are di programs

Why not? DI schools have tons of Title IX scholarships to hand out. She could have the chance to go to school for free.

Or she could go to Wartburg and play on a nationally ranked team. ;)

I can't believe I just said something positive about soccer. I feel so.............dirty.

lil miss spurrier has been accepted to the university of dubuque to study business and play soccer. . .she has narrowed her decision down to florida atlantic, florida gulf coast, and ud. . . spurrier and ms spurrier would welcome the chance to spend some fall days in dubuque over the next four years

And if you sit at the top of the new bleachers at Chalmer's Field, you can almost watch the soccer game at the same time.......just saying....in case there is a conflict with home athletic event scheduling  ;D

That should give your buddy Warthog more reasons to come to Dubuque and wear his Spartan hat  ;D

Congrats to her and the Spurrier family and I hope she makes the blue best decision!

Willie U

I'll be there!

Then again, if she should happen to enroll at Wartburg, I'll be there regularly.

Wartburg fans are given special dispensation to say nice things about soccer because our football field hasn't been ruined by soccer lines.

You may want to reconsider putting soccer lines on your field, because then you could have an excuse for why the football players look so confused out there.  :o

Welcome back Sprurrier!  Where have you been this year with UD sitting firmly in 1st place???  Hope your daughter goes to UD so you have another reason to come back to the boards, we have missed you.

been busy with kowboy and bearcat football. . .now that the spartans have reclaimed past glory, the king of the spartan nation is no longer needed
Ah, but you are always needed.  Plus, I hate to say it, but DD has kind of become King of the Spartan Nation in your absence.  I have always been impressed with the way the UD fans have stuck it out through thick and years of thin.  Nice to see it pay off, even if I do want to see them lose if Central wins.   ;)

I am doing my scouting for Central's big game Saturday.  I don't usually like to see an opponent's best player get a lot of touches but since Wartburg's is the punter I hope he is on the field often.

Nice try guys, but I don't think the Knight fans are going to bite this year.   :-X

Right now we are a little disappointed in the way things have been working out, so we probably won't say or write anything that can be used at a later date to make us feel any worse than we do at this time.   :-[

A big win over the Dutch could bring us out of our funk, but it sounds as though the injury bug may still be floating around the "W" training room.    :-\

Well she's got the city right, now she needs to go for a .8 mile walk and take in that view from the bluff-top.

I'm surprised there's not more chatter about the upcoming toilet bowl.  Somebody is going to leave Mt. Vernon with a win. I actually have a good feeling it will be the Duhawks.  We'll then catch a reeling 3-3 Wartburg team and surprise them in the Rock Bowl and beat BV on the road for a respectable finish a la the early-oughts Hawkeye teams.  This should build to conference championships for the next few years.  That's the way I'm seeing if folks, anybody with me?

You're drinking some of that kool-aid IdahoSoccer has been chugging ;D

It's my belief that positive thinking goes a long ways towards happiness.  Us UD fans are prime examples...we stayed positive during a looooooong dry spell for our Spartans.  It could also serve the Loras faithful well.

spurrier will always be the king.  I'm just a Spartan fan that enjoys talking IIAC sports on here with all these other knuckleheads that have a love for D3 sports.

Last time Loras was in MV they left with a loss. I have watched both teams play and I truly believe Cornell is the better team. However, Saturday that will all get worked out. Loras has a very good RB and our run defense has not looked good at all so that scares me. Should be a good game!!

What???  Throwing in the towel excuses before the game even starts?  What fun is that?  Central had 3 new injuries last Saturday too, every team has injuries, but one of them had a week off to heal.

The way I see it, I might as well get my licks in now as Saturday night I might be licking my wounds.  But I'm not giving up before the game is played and I am the fan that is very hesitant about Central's inconsistent play.  I'm just hoping the team that played Loras shows up at this game.  If it is the team that played BV, it is going to be a long afternoon.  So on that note, I should come up with another zinger now.   ;)
