ok - I am going to try to actually talk football again...Does anyone have knowledge of the corner from Wartburg who completed his undergrad degree but is to remain on campus to work on his master's, thus playing again this year for the Knights?

What is this kids story?  Injured and sat out a year?  Started out at a different school and did not play football, then transferred to Wartburg...graduating in 4 years but still with 1 year of eligibility?  Either way, good luck.  I'm sure the coaches would love to have someone with experiance back on the team.
Wartburg has a gradute school?

I suppose he wouldn't have to go to graduate school.  If he has eligibility remaining he could double major.  He has enough credits to graduate with one major but could take enough classes this fall to complete a double major and therefore still be an undergrad.

from what I "hear" he has finished his undergrad classes and it taking additional courses to remain on campus and be eligible to play - not necessarily in graduate school

It is with great joy that I can announce that I am a new Grandpa.  Noah John Connell 6 lbs 15 oz born at 3:36 PM today.  Central Class of 2034.  Maybe he will break his daddy's records.  This is all subject to if dad isn't coaching him at a different college.

Kudos to the new Grandpa.  Maybe somewhere in the future Noah can learn to yell ... Go Spartans!

He may but don't count on that.  He has a Knight Uncle and a Beaver for a Mom so UD would be #4 in a race with the family but hey he may be his own man and strike a different path.

Well so far you have no repeats...might as well keep picking a new school for each new family member until you have them all covered ;)

Congrats to you and your family on the new addition.

Thanks Dog!  The bad thing about this is I don't get to see the little guy till Saturday.  Decatur is just to far to make a day trip to see him.

Big Congrats DF!!!!!! Maybe he can become a Knight if all the "grad" students are gone by then!

Whatever you do, don't let him go to the dark side and play soccer! ;D

Congrats DF!!  It will be interesting to see the state of the IIAC in 2030 when it is time to choose.

I think his dad would have something to say about that.  I'm just the Grandpa.

I agree.  His choice will be interesting.  If his Dad is still coaching will he play for his dad?  Will he play for someone else.  That is the big question.  The state of and prestige of the IIAC may or may not play into the decision as much as where dad is and what vocation he is in at that time.

Congratulation DF2004.

Being a grandparent is the best job you can ever have.

I'm already looking forward to the 2030 thru 2033 Knight/Dutch games.

We'll see you at the pre-games.

I see Alex Tanney signed an offer with the Chiefs. I think he has the tools to make it in the league. He has the size and accuracy that are required to succeed. I wish him all the luck in the world.

Hopefully he finds the NFL competition not as stiff as Wartburg. ;D

I am excited to see if I'll Have Another can win the Belmont tomorrow.  I always thought that we would see another triple crown winner before Dubuque won an IIAC football championship but I was wrong about that.  Every thirty years seems about frequent enough for either.  It keeps them special.  I'll have a little something on Dullahan even though I think the guy who runs the syndicate that owns him lives in Indianola which makes me question his judgement.
