Maybe a Luther alum convinced the CR Gazette to give them a little press...

It's just 8 weeks until football season, time to ramp up the football talk.  Isn't this the time of year that the NCAA usually announces a rule change or two?  Anybody know anything about any?  Anybody have any they would like to see?  If I ran the rules committee, I would make the ball slightly smaller (no small balls cracks please) to take away some of the advantage guys with big hands have.  Hand envy is my latest neurosis.  I have decided that hands are appendages where size really does matter.  I read that when Johnny Unitas shook your hand, his fingers touched your elbow.  And it isn't just football.  Big hands are also an advantage at piano playing, magic tricks, baseball pitching, and card cheating to mention a few that don't involve fondling.  Sorry, I have trouble staying on topic.  Anybody know anything about any rule changes coming up?

I think they only do rule changes on an every-other-year basis. This would be an off year if that is the case.
I think I heard on one of the games I watched last night that kick-off touch-backs now come out to the 25.  Did I get that right?  The guy on tv said they are trying to discourage run-backs.  Too dangerous!  I don't like it.  And you may recall several years ago, I was the guy who thought refs ought to call the illegal helmet contact penalty more often.

Did you know there are 10,426,154 people in Bolivia and every one of them has won as many IIAC Football Championships as Loras?  ???

If idahosoccer has anything to say about it, that will all change this season starting tomorrow  ???

Stop living in the past.  We can tailgate now, so watch out.

Any chance of a video feed on the Central game?  :-[

Let's try to remember that Loras wasn't a member of the IIAC from the early 50's until the mid-80's.

So we should expect to see something around the year 2042?  :o

Coe's only been a member for 15 years and we have three titles.

Interesting Tanney development.

He technically wasn't cut today. His injured finger meant he was put in IR. Not sure exactly what that means going forward, but it's definitely interesting. Maybe a convenient way to make sure a guy with an injury can make it through  waivers and onto the practice squad.

With the new rule agreed upon yesterday, only 1 player on the IR can return this season - come off IR in week 6, on the roster in week 8. Otherwise IR means out for the year. I believe you can be waived off IR, but they can't play this season or go to a practice squad (but not 100% sure of that).

Well, that's probably not very good news for Mr. Tanney.

I read in the Gazette today that they are opening a new brew pub in Decorah called WILLIS's.  Talk about respect for a rival coach!!!   ;D

on the uwoshkoshb'gosh website there is a link under Fan Zone, that says live video feeds are happening in 2012-13,  no schedule or list of upcoming events and requires a sign in.  Looks like a pay site, you know Governor Walker's still working out that budget issue.  Anyway, I'm hoping for some free live viewing.
