I was officiating a middle school football game last night and I decided to stop by and see a friend on the way home, I was still dressed in full zebra garb.

I threw his door open and yelled I just got back in to town from Seattle and I need a place to lay low for awhile.

Beer through the nose can be painful.

Middle school football official now...next stop for NKD on the officiating ladder and what many would consider his dream job is here...

These teams must be wearing the new style uniforms. I thought they wore tear away like in the Earl Campbell days!

Wartburg will be fielding a team soon. Wartknight, NKD and I will be in charge of quality control, as per usual.
NKD: "We need a f**king touchdown, excuse my French"
FBD: "I didn't know touchdown was French."

Sounds like a tough job, but I am up for the task. ;D

Ya know for opening week of conference ball, this board is hauntingly quiet....Two very big/ potentially telling match-ups this week. (wart vs. simpson & Central vs. DBQ) You could make a case for every possible outcome of these two games...should be exciting to watch. DBQ and central kinda spiraling down, Simpson flying high over a crappy team and wartburg on a roller coaster so far.

I think there are still a lot of questions with the teams in our conference that the non-con portion of our schedule failed to answer, which in turn is keeping those on here a bit quiet as they still have no idea how things are going to play out.

Dubuque and Central are both a dissapointing 1-2.  Are they bad teams or did they just run into some strong non-con opponants?  Simpson had 2 good wins and 1 bad loss...just who are the Storm?  Wartburg and Coe seem like the powers in the conference at this point, just don't know for sure.

Do IIAC teams have JV games this year?  I thought I was told UD doesn't have a JV schedule this year and that surprised me.

Loras Has a JV team and has been planning to have several games. The only issue is that many of them will most likely get cancelled because of injuries and such.

Welcome to the board Duhawkin.

As far as JV, in the past, UD would post their JV schedule with their varsity schedule, and no JV games show this year.  This year, there has been less attrition as there are still 131 on the roster from an original list of 148.  Last year I think they began with a similar number and then there were 118 listed by the beginning of the season and 98 by the end of the season.  This year the guys seem to be sticking it out.  Hopefully they get some sort of JV action, but I don't know.

Fox and Friends an early news and gab show had two players from the Lingerie(sp?) League on and they said two referees that had been fired from their league for incompetence were replacement refs in the NFL.

Hey leave the guy alone.  This is the kind of deep football insight we need more of on this board.

I don't see the Storm scoring 31 this yr!

Oh I think theres more than a few people who think that well within the realm of possibility...I think most impartial opinions would say Wartburg scoring 37 would be a much bigger surprise than simpson scoring 31

Wow no love for Loras, even on the pick 'em board.

Hey.. I heard their punter is good...

All joking aside, we really are not that bad. I feel that it has just been a few miss cues here or there that have done us under this year. Going to shock the nation!

I am one that believes that Simpson is going to have a very hard time putting up 37 points on Wartburg.  The current #10 team in the country put up 21 points on what is a good Wartburg Defense.

Simpson is one dimensional, their ground game has been nowhere to be seen so far.

Which Simpson game would you point to that would tell you they have an offensive juggernaut that will roll the Knights defense for 37 points?  :-\
Win or lose we still booze!!
