Yes I can. Two live in a barn and one lives in a mirror.

What a gutsy win by the Dutch. Somewhat sloppy on both teams so I guess that evened out. Some boneheaded plays on both sides as well (Dbq returner stepping out at the 2). It was awesome to see a completely injury riddled defense step up with 4 takeaways ....very impressive game by guys that had to step up last minute. How the Dutch overcame those defensive injuries vs a team that was supposed to have to some real fire power was great! And they hit like. Mac truck today as well....love that brand of football even if it does occasionally come at the cost of a bogus penalty.

If you are talking about the call against the Central defender who went head to head with the UD receiver down by the north end zone, I thought it was the right call...and I'm a Central fan.  If you are going to hit the guy who everyone is looking at and hit him that hard, you should at least try not to hit his head.  There were a couple of other times the zebras looked a little confused but I think they got that one right.

Moving on, in the seven years I have been posting on here, I have pretty much burned through my Simpson material.  I am still looking for an obscure enough joke book to plagerize.

Guess we'll have to agree to disagree on that one. IMHO they are D3 FOOTBALL players...not NFL QBs
From my vantage point it was not head-to-head at all, it was all shoulder by the Central player and I remember being surprised he dropped so fast since he was not hit by the full body.

DSM Register stats showed WB holding Simpson to negative 15 yds rushing.  Was that right?  Always have to chuckle when the leading rushers have negative yardage, as long as it isn't a Central stat that is.  Impressive, does that mean another day of 61 passes thrown against the Dutch this Saturday?

In all the was it a clean hit or wasn't it talk, there wasn't any conversation about Central's Danny Sampson playing both ways.  What did Central fans think of his situational use at QB?  Not often a guy is sacking the QB, then turning around and playing that position.  I always knew those Central coaches were smart, but I give them extra credit points for that ingenuity.  Glad the coaching staff made productive use of the long road trip home from Albion.

Flash forward to Saturday night at a bar in Indianola.  A Simpson player is whooping it up and the waitress says, "I take it you won today over in Pella?"  The Simpson player says, "Nah, but I did just finish a jigsaw puzzle in record time."  Waitress, "Oh yeah, how long did it take you?"  Simpson player, "The box said 3-5 years, but I just started it the first day of football camp and we are only halfway through the season."

I love when these rivalry games bring the jokes out!

Keep 'em coming...now if only we had some Simpson fans to volley back and forth

I tried to bring it up but no one was interested. Since central doesn't have a power back this year and Danny was a very good QB in hs I guess it makes a lot of sense. Props to the big fella being on that hot turf for so much of the game...really played a good game.

The only "downside" of doing that means central has now rotated 4 qbs this season and it's 4 gAmes in haha

Is Coe that good, or is BV just that bad?

Coe beat them just as bad as three ranked teams have beaten them, all while holding them without a point.  Also, Coe pulled starters at halftime.

The Simpson team bus is on its way to Pella for the big game when it comes to a low underpass.  The driver looks and says, "The bus is just about half an inch too high.  We have to let some air out of the tires."  And the smartest guy on the team says, "What good will that do?  It's the top of the bus that won't fit."  I'm still trying to find a better source for this stuff.

With some people actually picking Simpson to win Saturday, I better try harder.  How's this?

A Simpson grad and a chicken walk into a bar.  They get a drink and the chicken wanders down to the end of the bar and calls the bartender over and whispers, "I'm not sure, but I think that guy plans to eat me."  The bartender says, "Don't worry.  He's wearing a Simpson tee shirt.  Just tell him you are a whooping crane and protected by conservation laws.  He won't know the difference."  So after they have their drink the Simpson guy says to the chicken, "Come on it's time for me to eat you."  And the chicken says, "Oh no no no.  You can't eat me.  I'm a whooping crane."  And the Simpson guy says, "Well okay, but this is going to be a big surprise to the chairman of the Simpson College Ornithology Department.  He told me you're a duck."

Wouldn't Simpson almost be considered a favorite given the match-ups?

Well....I need a few days to absorb the loss on Saturday before I made any comments  ;)

Congrats to Central for the win. I was able to watch most of the game and listen to what I couldn't watch. They played hard and in my opinion, their defense stepped up big at times even though the Spartans were able to march up and down the field and of course the use of samson on offense was a smart move. Their RB's are talented as well.

As for the Spartans.....of course mistakes and turnovers cost us the game. Not only is it difficult to go in to pella and beat central. Homecoming at central magnifies that 100 times.

My personal opinion is that Central is going to win games that their defense can keep them in and that they can run on. But, when facing good defenses against the run, they have a slim chance. I forsee at least 2 more losses for central. Possibly 3 if simpson beats them this weekend.

As for UD, obviously need to right the ship this weekend and then Coe on homecoming could very well decide if we have any chance to claw our way back into the hunt for the IIAC. It's an uphill battle but the Spartans have nothing to lose anymore.

Being a former LB, I am all for the "big" hits. In fact, my favorite hits were ones like this when receivers/TE's came across the middle. The issue in today's game regardless of level is shots to the head and concussions. I admit I like that they are cracking down on the head shots. Now, your picture almost looks as if his shoulder pad was right into the facemask of his helmet so I think the penalty was justified. However, he obviously did not see him coming and was off balance so it probably also made it look worse then it was.
