So many offensive mistakes cost us the game on Saturday....

On another note, looking forward to the cross-town game. We really have nothing to lose!

I haven't been to a football game at Loras since I was in school...which means a very very long time ago.  Where do you parkIs there a tailgating scene?  If we sit on the visiting side are we out of luck as far as restrooms and concessions and all that stuff?  Are we better off sitting on the home side?

Our last trip there we were in a parking lot south of the stadium.  Easy walk from there. Yes, the Wartburg faithful setup tables, grills, flags, and chairs much like we do in Waverly.  Refreshments were also similar.  Visitor side. There are restrooms in the building that will be directly behind you. As long as the drop off down the limestone bluff doesn't bother you, the visitor side is kind of neat.  Take lawn chairs.

Thanks warthog, we are considering the Loras trip.  We know we will be in town the next week for the BVU game so not sure we will go 2 weeks in a row.  But you never know.

I have listened/watched a few of the broadcast from IIAC games when I can.  I have been pleasantly surprised by the broadcasters.  Specifically Central's and Luther's radio guys do a nice job.  I dropped in on few interviews from the Dubuque site as well.  He does a really nice job too.  I guess maybe I shouldn't be so surprised but I have to admit I am impressed.  Just wanted to give some credit to these guys.

Dubuque is the class act of video streaming games. Good commentary, two cameras, instant replay.   Luther's guy screams into the mike when the Norse do anything to the point that one cannot hear what is happening.  Need to change that, Luther.  Wartburg needs to come along with the rest of the IIAC and use Stretchnet instead of Flashpoint or what ever they have adopted.

Good description from Warthog, there are typically away fans in the home bleachers because of the set-up so either side would be OK.
This always a fun week, I'm not sure the similar records will yield a close game but it really can be a toss-up when these teams play regardless of record.  I wish it was a night game, I just like them better but my guess is an early Nov. evening wouldn't be all that pleasant.

The conference soccer semifinals are this wednesday with a strong possibility that Loras and Dubuque will win their games to set up a final between UD/Loras.  If that game is also on Saturday I think that would increase the possibility of my wife and I making the trip over to Dubuque.

I haven't seen video from the other programs but I can concur that Dubuque's is very good.  I've never had a problem though I only watched may a half dozen games over the past couple of years.

No matter how badly the Central season has gone, it just doesn't seem right not to get fired up for the Warburg game.  This being the last home game and all, I'm looking to The Dutch to bring some passion to it, eliminate the mistakes and make themselves proud against the Warts.

Well said!!  I think this game was the highlighted game for my family as it was not only a war on the field but also in the family.  With an empty nest now the war is not the same for us.  Both boys are busy with their own lives and jobs this is just not the same.  I would like to see the boys text messages though :) :) :) :) :) :)

Even the father/son ones can be good. I had to empty my inbox during the 49er game last night. It's a highlight of my week when we are watching the same game. Not as good as him watching it beside me, but I'll take what I can get!

We usually get so frustrated at the game we are watching (Cowboys usually) at the same time and texting back and forth that we end up calling and talking for an hour while watching the game.  :)

I agree nothing like a father/son debate or rivalry.  It can get heated but always in good fun.  Losing to a son stings a little more than losing to a friend but is ALWAYS a good time.

I suggest you start watching a different team, like the FIRST place Bears!  ;)(Yea, they have given me my share of headaches!)....Nothing but Bear fans in our family (even my wife), so if there is a disagreement it is usually my bias for all things going Chicago's way! Definitely good times!!

I was only able to listen to the last 5 minutes of the UD coaches show this evening.  At that point they had Michael Zweifel on the air.  He will be a grad assistant at UW-LaCrosse next season.  Since he won't start there until the fall semester, he will be spending the spring and part of the summer playing for the Vienna Vikings in the Austrian league.  Good luck to Michael, that sounds like a great opportunity to get 1 more season of playing in before continuing on with your grad studies and coaching career.
