I would like to give a quick hello to those who are going to be at the Central Wartburg game. If you would, send me an email to let me know if you'll be at the game. Thanks.

I was only able to listen to the last 5 minutes of the UD coaches show this evening.  At that point they had Michael Zweifel on the air.  He will be a grad assistant at UW-LaCrosse next season.  Since he won't start there until the fall semester, he will be spending the spring and part of the summer playing for the Vienna Vikings in the Austrian league.  Good luck to Michael, that sounds like a great opportunity to get 1 more season of playing in before continuing on with your grad studies and coaching career.

He'll learn a whole bunch of football working for a former Wartburg assistant.  8-)

Thoughts on Coe at #7?  I would think if they won out, they'd be getting a home playoff game at 10-0, but this is making me wonder.

Probably not. Their OOC Was nothing special, bordering on weak and the IIAC as a whole is very weak

I also assume that Concordia-Moorhead gets its second loss this weekend, which likely bumps them down. I don't understand how Cal Lutheran is ahead with a loss and one less game with essentially the same SOS.

One of the things we've been saying for a couple of years now is that it is better to have a loss against a regionally ranked opponent than to not have played any at all. We definitely saw that in the case of Coe here.

We will see what happens @ the end of the season. Too much love for the west coast! The clu fans are upset about their ranking; D3 ranking doesn't mean they should be higher in the region. I think Coe is getting the shaft in the ranking!!

I guess I have higher regard for the west coast teams than many of my IIAC brothers and sisters.  Over recent years I've had the opportunity to observe some games out there (Linfield, Willamette, Pac Lutheran).  As a group (especially Linfield), I think they operate at a different level.  If you go further back (10+ years) I witnessed a couple very good Wartburg teams get steam rollered by Pac Lutheran and Linfield (2003 Wartburg held their own against Linfield).  For now, the west coast probably deserves the positive attention they are receiving.

Just take the ranking and use it as motivation.

It would be nice to make a short drive to Coe to watch an IIAC playoff game though.

If my Warts were in, may be tempting. Won't spend that kind of $ on the Hacks! ;D

Good luck to the Dutch this Saturday in what has turned into another fun rivalry game.  Time to just let the way this season has gone go and play this game with passion.  It is the last home game of the year and the last Schipper field game of the careers for many talented seniors.  Play your best, play clean, and leave it all on the field.  Oh, and hang onto the ball, cut down on needless penalties, force some WB turnovers and win the game.   :) :) :)  Go Dutch!
