So, since schools tend to follow along with trends...how long until we find an IIAC school employing a DJ for their football practices?  ;D

My guess would be that Dubuque would be the first to get one.

My bias is that if they want to do it for practice ... that's up to them.   However, I dislike being subjected to "that" music in the stands as part of the pre-game hoopla.  That no doubt sounds like the "old school" DJ that I am.

Gotta tell ya, speaking from experience, that music isn't meant for the fans. I always told people who didn't like it to: Spend a little more time tailgating, bring a handheld radio, or just gotta deal.

Wyatt Hanus will participate in the Vikings mini camp.

Maybe he can show Vandenberg how to hit a receiver in stride.

Agreed and at least we know he'll show up at least 1 of the QB's in camp! Congrats to Wyatt for the opportunity.

Even if Wyatt Hanus is gone after this 3 day camp, it is nice to see a D3 kid get a shot.  And I can imagine the UD coaching staff is telling their recruits that 2 years in a row now there has been a UD Spartan get an invitation to an NFL camp.

Since there isn't too much going on.  Here is a link to the Hudl page for Wyatt Hanus

This is good news for Hanus.  Vandenburg is not outstanding competition so he may have a legit shot at making the NFL.  Good luck and would look forward to seeing him with the Vikes at the dome this year.

I'm with those who think it's great that a D3 athlete is getting a shot.  Good luck to him.

Wyatt was obviously a beast but do we honestly believe he was better than JVB?

These guys...

Oh wait, that's BBD

Um, underwear...

Nope that's BVD

Perhaps it's supposed to be VDB?  As in James, the former Iowa QB?  Just a hunch ;D  Doesn't look like the Vikings are asking either one to sign a free agent contract.  Nice to get a look see though.  And a big accomplishment for a D3 kid to get an invite.

I think size wise Hanus stacks up well, arm strength is a plus, accuracy is good, can run when needed to.  VDB would likely have a leg up during a 3 day workout in that he is already used to a bit of a faster pace that Hanus doesn't see everyday at the D3 level.  I doubt there was too much to choose from between the 2 of them though.

Who knows if he'll get a legit look. But even after Vandenburg, the competition is far from steep. Matt Cassell anyone? How about Christian Ponder? If there was ever a roster ripe for the pickings by an undrafted D3 standout qb, this Vikings squad would be it. Best of luck to Hanus!
